Top Of Line Alarm For 500$$

well my girls 98 civic EX jsut got stolen last night.. i feel very bad for her. especially since her b-day is this tuesday and i bought her some SIs to put on her car. so now shes saying she doesnt want a nice HONDA ne more because theyre jsut gunna steal it. So i want to buy her a top of the line alarm for about 500$ any suggestions? i also really wanna know because i think im gunna talk her into buying an Electron blue SI my buddys selling...lol. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Viper security is pretty good stuff, ppl swear by it on here alot.

i think there is a DIY for a killswitch... lemme see if i can find it.


EDIT- nope... theres one for a tailights killswitch i can give u a link to that if u like. maybe it would be easy to just run it to like the fuel pump or starter instead of the tails. i unno tho man. sorry.

What separates an expensive one from a basic one would be the added features (ie 2 way paging, motion sensors, tilt features, GPS etc).

viper with two way paging cant go wrong, and if you have extra cash lojack and tuck that bad boy somewhere in the car and catch the punks LOL that way you can go online and know where your car is at

yes i have hung out at a Audio installation center for the last 2 years. One of my dudes is an installer there.

Everyday he was messing with either autostart or a full fledged alarm. All by DEI.

Primo stuff...very good.

Deff recommend anything by them and yea the Viper systems usually start around 4-500$ dollars.

edit- and another thing, is if you install it yourself do it right...dont rush or take shortcuts....

solder the wires and heatshrink them instead of crimping and electric tape and blend all the wiring with OEM wiring so a thief would have to be the TYPE G of wiring to know his shit

You can have lowjack installed for $500 and your girlfriend would already have her car back, the punks would be in jail, and a crime ring possibly busted, and everyone elses stolen cars could be returned too! If your worried about your car getting stolen, lowjack is the best way to recover your car.

An alarm though would have the possibility to deter them in the first place, to foil a carjack/breakin, you would need the following wired up/installed:
LED
Hood Pin
Trunk Pin
Door Pins (Typically wired off the dome light)
Glass Breakage Sensor
Shock Sensor
Siren
Starter bypass

Optional Extra Security
Backup Battery & Siren

This system isn't foolproof if someone knows his stuff, your car could be gone in 60 seconds or less. That is where lowjack, or its equivalent will get them.

get a viper with two-way paging, you know the one that has a little screen it shows everything if someone is trying to mess with your ride. and also get a motion sensor installed so any movement to the car will send a prewarn first then will go off afterwards. ive heard that viper alarms have built in kill switches but dont know for sure, but check it out anyway.
