ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Another assault on your senses. Guess the horsepower!

Sorry again for the lame post asking people to guess my horsepower after the following mods, but it gives us all something to talk about. So here is me asking all of you to give a rough (of course exact numbers are out of the question) estimate on my horsepower after the mods.

    F22A1 with following mods:

    Rebuilt head with F22A6 cam
F22A6 intake manifold and ITBs with H22A plenum
    2.25" exhaust header > 2.25" downpipe > 2.25" hi-flo cat > 2.25" straight to tip
    MSD external coil
    cheap eBay ram air intake

I know these types of threads have been covered over and over again, and I'm not trying to rehash old stuff at all, just trying to give our members a chance to wager a guess at what my new horsepower will be.

You have to figure 125hp from the base F22A1 motor, then the benefits of the F22A6 cam and manifold, plus the H22A plenum, ignition, exhaust, etc...

Any guesses? It's just for fun, but let's see who's closest to the actual number when I get it dynoed in August.

    I say 145-150.

hmm, that's a pretty dismal assumption. I was kinda thinking 155-175hp myself. I mean just the F22A6 stuff "should" bump it up to around 140-145 by itself, let alone the H22A plenum and other mods.

Unless you were guessing the WHP, compared to the BHP, which would put your figure about accurate in my calculations. Since 125 is the BHP stated by Honda as the F22A1's power, with the extra mods bumping it up to 165-175 or so then subtracting the loss from flywheel to wheels.

Does anyone have a dyno to prove what the 125hp of an F22A1 actually puts down to the wheels? That would help a lot in speculative assumptions.

well yea thats where i was going because the base hp for the a6 is 140 so thats that and then with your bolt ons/ upgrades i was thinking at least 150.

Yes a dyno would certainly help.

Ok maybe it's late and im a little drunk but itb's and a h22 plenum?? When you have itb's you dont use a plenum! well cus its itb's!! and a plenum would do nothing for you. Now if your were going itb's with a turbo then that would be a different story seeing you would need to route that boost into the ITB's somehow. So what are you going to run? Itb's or h22 plenum with throttle body? I just have to assume you mean iab's seeing your wanting to use e bay ram air kit so i again assume your going to use a throttle body? Ok a6 motor around 140 hp h22 plenum maybe 5 if your lucky and exhaust another 5-10 the ignition is not going to gain you anything really. So with that said i would say around 150- 155hp at the crank. And to be honest i dont think the plenum will give you hp but rather let your car breath at higher rpm's. Moving your power band up a bit. When i did at a6 mani swap with the a4 header i did notice it pulled all the way up to 6k rpm's but i dont think i gained any power so to speak but rather i have a wider power band. (pulls to 6k now rather than droping off at 5k) only way to know is to dyno that stuff when you get her done. And please let us know either way.

I guarantee it makes more power.

Don't know how much is related to the TB and how much is related to the plenum though.

On a DynoJet or a Mutstang Dyno?

              Dynojet- 125-135
              Mustang- 95-105

Is that an honest enough guess?

My 90 EX Auto made 115whp/119wtq with I/H/E, since yours is 5spd, figure another 10whp, and the plenum probably gave you another 5 peak whp, as for a rebuilt head, well a stock rebuild is only going to make stock power, but the A6 cam is probably good for another 5whp. 115+10+5+5=135whp at the most, but get it on a dyno and prove me wrong.

Also, just FYI, it's IAB's (the butterfly's in the manifold) not ITB's (Individual Throttle Bodies)

              -Kyle

EDIT- Make sure you due a tune up right before you dyno, dirty plugs and fuel filters murder good power numbers.

Stock for stock, the F22 head flows about the same, or a little more than the H22 head.

It is limited by the camshaft, so upgrading the cam beyond an F22A6 cam would certainly help.

                    i say 120whp tops.

how are these ITBs tuned? stock ECU? i would lower my assumption back to 110whp if so. lol

Well I dont think it will get up to 150 man, that would take a lot more than you have. So my guess would be 120. I really dont think the h22 plenum would add a whole lot of power, but you should make a compairison if you get it dyno'd with and without the h22 plenum, I would be interested to see the difference
