ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Check Engine = Good!?

I have had my car for almost a year now and lately I have noticed that during long periods of travel my check engine light comes on and my car performs WAY better. I took it to the Honda Dealership for a diagnostic (Yeah they raped me.)to see what was going on. They of course gave me the run around. But Basically here's what's going on:

No light - Slow/Sluggish acceleration, Almost like its having trouble shifting from 1st to 2nd gear (AT). Weird "overbuzz" noise. Sounds like the engine is working harder than what it should be under acceleration. Poor Throttle/Reaction ratio. I have to halfway floor it to go almost 50. Weird smell. Rough Idle. Weird sounds at idle. Sounds like the engine might cut out. Weird knocking sound upon acceleration.

Light - Of course Its not sexy. Besides that nothing.

I asked some of my friends what may be going on and they said that some kind of check failed in either my Engine or transmission and it reverted back to the default settings or something along those lines. Here is where this vast collection of knowledge comes into play. Is there anyway I can force my car to run in default mode or whatever at least until i can afford to fix the problem?

Check the code behind the CEL by doing that jumper thing, then at least you could pinpoint it to what may be tripping it. To tired to find the thread on it should be a sticky in the main tech forum CEL diagnostic or somethin.

So you are saying your car performs as normal when your CEL(check engine light) comes on? Weird.

When did you last get a complete tune-up done? Have you checked your ignition system as well as spark plugs? When was the ignition timing last checked and set to factory specs? Those are a few things you might want to consider.

Also, the first thing I would do, is pull the codes as soon as you have the CEL come on.
