ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Hello...

    Hey Guys!
My name is Justin and I recently aquired a 93' EX with the F22A6 inside of it. Normally im a DSM guy (I have 2 4G63's in my garage right now), but I work at Firestone and we had a customer who brings his car in regularly have the oil pump lock up. The question I pose is what bottom end setup (pistons/rods) would be good to throw into that motor for a rebuild?
Im debating right now about putting on one of the turbos sitting in my garage as I have almost all of the parts to do it, but my main concern is with the durability of the F22a. I have done some research on here, and though most the guys go for the H22, im looking to make this my reliable daily driver. I know that this would be a viable option, but the money involved is not possible for me as a college student.
Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appriciated as I am going to begin this project in the next couple weeks (Finals week at KU coming up).
Glad to be in the community,
    -Justin

P.S. - I cannot view the Classifieds section for some reason. It always asks me for my password again and tells me that it is wrong...

Both the F22 and the H22 are extremely durable engines if properly maintained.

The F22A is a very capable engine in it's own right... people don't give it the credit it deserves, honestly. The H22 makes for a VERY nice near-stock daily driver with 200hp, though.

Compared to DSMs, the CB7 is a MUCH more reliable car. Mostly due to the fact that Accords aren't generally beaten on as much as the sportier DSMs, but also due to the build quality to some extent... and the lack of turbo.

If you want to rebuild, I would put OEM parts in there, unless you have plans for a more extreme NA or turbo build.

yup you can definitely turbo the f22a and just run low boost with no problem
