ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Well you can use stock temporarily, but sooner or later they will blow. It wouldn't be a bad idea to invest in some aftermarket shocks.

Stock shocks for a 2.3" drop! Holy crap, what are you thinking?!? Definitely... DEFINITELY replace the shocks!

Since you didn't replace the shocks, I'm assuming you also didn't cut the bumpstops... you need to cut them in half, at least. That may be part of the problem.

Get new shocks... AT LEAST Tokico Blues or KYB GR2s... preferrably Tokico Illuminas or Koni Yellows. Cut the bumpstops to half and replace them. It WILL take some time to properly settle.

I have been runnin on stock shocks for about 3 years now with a 2.25" drop. Its definitely not 2.25" anymore.

                They can't be unblown...

Hell, when I helped AccordWarrior do his suspension, most, if not all, of his shocks were either blown, or so weak that they were worthless... and he was never lowered before that!

Also, unblown stock shocks may be possible when lowered... but they are certainly the exception. I've ridden with just one blown shock, and believe me, one rough spot in the road at 75mph is downright scary.

x2. Before I got my KYB AGX's i had 1 blown shock and driving on the highway was some scary shit. And it takes a lot to scare me when I'm driving so it was BAD.

But yeah, I had the settling problem too, you have to cut the bumpstops.

The funny thing is that the blown shock I had WAS an AGX

They aren't meant for a drop... they can handle it, but the warranty is void. That's why I went with Koni... plus, the Konis are MUCH better.

yea my AGXs blew because they couldnt handle the ride height

voids the warranty after a 1.5 inch drop.

who the hell is gonna lower the cb by that much. the average cb drop is about 2.25-2.75in

My drop at the time was about 1.7" in the front, and 1.5" in the rear... I smacked a pothole, though. Some jerkass nearly blew a stopsign, and I had to swerve into it... I knew it was there, too! Bent the lip on my rip as well...

AGX compared to the Konis is like night and day, though. If I could only afford one or the other, springs or shocks, I'd choose the Konis on stock springs!
