ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Headers!?

Can you take the header off and only the header? Obviously you need to take the heat shield off but other then that is it pretty easy?

^ (no sarcasm through this whole thing just giving you an idea) why dont you just take you lights off and sand them down with 1000 grit sandpaper and paint translucent apple red. or if you have your stock tail lights you can do them as well. i did my 92-93 like that and they came out fabulous. you can get the paint in the model section at walmart or micheals or something.

It's not the toughest job but without the right tools it can turn into a nightmare. I'd recommend a deepsocket with 6 points instead of 12. Use pb blaster and let it soak for a good one then pry the exhaust manifold nuts out.

          ...adjust accordingly

Yeah thats pretty random, when the name of the thread is HEADER?!@ haha some people do way to much crack these days.

Thanks for the tips though guys. The reason I was asking is because I was thinking of covering my header with some heat wrap tape.

I guess my next question is, is covering it with heat wrap tape a pretty good thing to do? and if so what kinds are recommended??

It'll help keep the temp down especially for stainless steal applications as compared to ceramic coated ones. I'm pretty sure you will void the warranty if the header came with one though.

Is that a waist? I thought that keeping the temp down was good so I figured I could just wrap my stock header in the tape for now untill I can afford to get a different one. Am I wrong?

Careful with the heat wrap tape... you need to wrap the header really tightly. If you don't, you will end up with a corroded through header. This will happen especially with stock non-coated headers.

I would just leave the stock setup alone unless you are gonna get another setup all together.
