ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    E85 Conversion

Hey I'm into saving the world the Tree Hugger's way, and I am a Junior in high school. I have to do this Senior Project thing next year, where I basically make something of my interest. I was thinking of doing something along the lines of an E85 conversion...anybody know of any reasons besides political opinions why it would be a bad idea? I am in the midst of searching through the world wide web as we speak, so any input would be great.

sounds like a good project...when I worked for Ford, i had to be trained on the engines that could use a mixed fuel like E85...the only real difference between the E85 engines and a regular engine is a sensor that tells the ECU the ratio of Ethanol to Gasoline...the ECU then advances or retards the ignition timing accordingly...I don't know how easy it would be for you or if it can be done at all....there may even be conversion kits out there...good luck

Yeah there is a conversion kit out there, but making it on my own would be more of a project. Maybe there is some ECU chipper out there who can chip my ECU to accept the E85 change. Do ya think I have to change any fuel lines...make a separate tank...maybe the fuel injectors? Anything? or just the ECU? because the kit i found doesn't say what it is.

I've actually been toying with the idea myself, but the car would be totally converted for ease sake. Retard the timing, tune with a chipped ecu and wideband, bam a cheap fuel using accord!

Give me some details if you are looking further into this. My main concern is how to get the ethanol

e85 is as easy to convert to as getting a hondata s300, bigger injectors and a wideband
