ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Keeping the accord/need some mod ideas

Ok, well I've decided to keep the accord rather than go with the civic. I got all the basics, I/H/E, high voltage coil, platinum plugs(NGK), plugs wires, cap, rotor, clutch, flywheel, 10w-30 royal purple, coilovers, strut bar. So I was thinking, what is something else basic that I can do next to get some more power?, something relatively cheap and easy. No turbo or motor swaps, just something that will beef up the f22a1 a little more without killing the mpgs'. I'm not a super mechanic(soon to be hopefully) but I was thinking in the means of maybe a bigger camshaft or cam gears? Can't seem to find a beefed up camshaft for the f22a1, any links? But if any of you guys have any other ideas on what I could do that isn't too hard or overly expensive, I would really appreciate it. Thanks alot for the help.

the best way to get power is working on the engine. The cheapest way is get a vtec head and get a vtec computer. Depending where you live the head could run you 150-250

Which vtec head would fit on my f22a1?

its really better to go with the h23 head i think i could be wrong tho....+ since it a A1, u could always do the a6 manifolds swap OR the H23 intake manifold swap to make it breath a little easier.

Check out F22parts.com for cams, but if you are not comfortable with timing belt changes, I would stay away from that as a DYI. Cam gears are not going to give a lot of bang for the buck. You would spend a lot of time on the dyno to actually see any gains from them as you would have to make a pull, then alter the gear setting, then make a run and so on and so on. 1 degree of change in the gear can mak the car run better or run worse, and each motor is a little different when it comes down to it. What would work for cam timing on one members f22a1 setup more than likely may not be what your f22a1 setup likes to see for cam timing.

I would really do the intake manifold as it is reasonable in price and effort.

Also I ran across a thread last night, were they did a A6 cam and manifold swap, then turned around and used the plenum from a Prelude on the A6 manifold. He seemed to feel more gains from the plenum then the A6 manifold and cam swap.
