ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Ok, I got a question for you guys...Have a chance of getting a 98 civic hx 1.6 vtec all stock 144,000 miles, 5 speed. I wanted to know if anyone has ever owned one of these or know much about them? The main question I have is will in be quicker than my cb7? I got i/h/e, clutch, flywheel, and ignition coil, 5 speed. If I do the same to that civic, will it be quicker? Plus, I'm going to UTI in the fall, and will be broke, and in need to every drip of gas possible. lol Don't get me wrong, nothing will ever top f22a1 , but theres just something about that vtec noise that make my dooey twinkle. Thanks alot

Why not just do a swap when you do have the money. Also, everyone has a civic that has a Vtec in it. Why not do it with a CB7 and stand out in the crowd when ur smokin those Civics with a H22? Oh and everyone's dooey twinkle when you have this too...

LOL an hx with vtec....Id rather take a cb.

        1. Base model
        2. Built for economy not performance
        3. cb quicker
        4. gets damn good mileage
        5. I dont even think hx were vtec lol.
        6. Either way still not fast.

What did he throw in there anyway a d16.

ah its rated at 115 hp. But the thing is I don't have any money to do a swap, guys thinking about trading straight up for my 91 s10, which wouldn't sell for more than $1500 outright (he wants a 4x4) , and $1500 isn't enough for a h22 swap(never even seen a h22 in person, here in the boonies its all cavaliers and ford probes and escorts with fart cannons). Plus the h22 would only kill the mpg too. So the single cam vtec isnt that great? I never actually drove one myself.....any more input would be great...thanks much

ah its some vtec-e shit....a little different than the normal I guess, gives more low end than high end

Most people that know civics will tell you not to waste any money on modding a D series engine. I say keep the CB I dont think they are that far off in the mpg range than a civic.

i tell every1 2 get an accord instead of a civic. civic's have a wider and alot easier range of tune-ability but accords are the shyt. What u should do is run an accord motor in a civic, some guy on the fourm has a h22 crx, with the civic's lighter body, u might get more bang out of ur cb7 motor

D series arent worth modding unless you go turbo.

Yea turbo would be a different story, my friend had a hatch with a turbo d16 and it was making a flat 200 to the wheels. But he stated that he doesnt have money for a swapp witch means no money for turbo and he wanted to do a few bolt ons and flywheel and clutch. but that wont do anything to a 115hp engine. my 02.

that hx model for some reason says it can get up to 45 mpg, (something to do with that vtec-e i guess), my accord gets ah like 25 or so.
Right now I got a 90 cb7 lx, shitty black primer job, random gray door handle(broke the day after I got it painted primer) brown door panels, the rest of the interior is blue, inside of the trunk is green, head gasket leaks, body kit keeps cracking after multiple fiberglass and body filler repairs, awesome black steelies, no back up lights, leaking radiator, self surging/reving car, doors that wont lock no matter what, no windshield washer holes(got fiberglassed over and someone ripped the under hood tank and everything with it out. Squeaky axel and rotors, a sun roof that falls down into the car, no fender walls, dented front fenders, front grill custom made from gutter guard.
The civic, mint condition, with rims
but you guys are right, who needs a soch vtec when I got a HOOP D

Well, say I keep the cb7 and still get the civic, those model civics good for a go to school/gas mileage if i plan to keep it pretty much stock? K&N filter and maybe a little exhaust work. Basically are civics good cars for just getting around

my bro has a 98 ex coupe and my sister has a 97 dx coupe, they are nice, easy to work on (a pleasure compared to the cb) parts are fairly cheap, fair acceleration, good mpg

However, interior is cheaper than the CB, much less room inside than the cb, plastic headlights are almost always yellowed/hazy by this age

I enjoy fixing them for my siblings, but I don't really like driving them, makes me long for my cb

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

Civic hatch HX are not bad cars, they're not the best but they're not bad just basic. They are reliable and gets good gas mileage (if everything is up on par that is). Don't like something about the Civic? It was be easily changed and upgraded.

But you said you are going to school and need money (or don't have much/any money) so I would just stick with one car and unload the other.
