ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    OBD1 or OBD2

    I have a 93 Ex which i plan on swapin an H in it but i don't know whether i should get a OBD1 or OBD2.

All Cb7's are OBD1. You could get an OBD2 H22 which is the A4 and A7 I believe. Swapping from OBD1 to OBD2 is not easy. The best H22 to swap in would be the H22a, it's OBD1.

How much trouble you wanna go through. Obviously obd1 is easier and there really isnt much difference.

i always thought obd1 ,obd2 had to do w ecu and emissions and that if you went obd2 it was easier to pass your inspection is taht right

ya get the obd1 it will be a lot easier, since you dont have to convert a obd2 to a obd1 like i have to do when i start my swap.

Correct me if I am wrong, but i believe the only difference between obd1 and obd2 is the position of the o2 sensors. one before and one after the cat for obd2 and only one before the cat for obd1.

Im not very familiar with EFI yet (I'm an old Datsun guy so side draft carbs are my specialty ) but That is how it was explained to me.

no, there is some other differences like you have to get an obd1 distributor, and a obd2 to obd1 conversion harness to make life easier lol. and there is some other stuff you have to do.

Converting isn't hard... just another step, and a little more to learn. OBD1 is easier, OBD2 is newer. OBD1 H22s are closed deck, and I believe most OBD2 H22s are open deck (closed is stronger... 1996 may still have the closed deck design, but the H22A4 was open deck)
