    New Suspension setup!!!...input needed

    Hey guys,
Ive read up on the various suspension setups for the accord and still dont really know what route to take, since stiffness and harshness of the ride is all subjective to each driver, but what i am looking for is a setup that drops around the two inch mark, and stiffens the ride up, but not to a level that it becomes jarring...(The roads get pretty lump in the winter here in Canada) I drive the car at mostly highway speed and love the on and off ramps, and the odd hard corner...spirited driving i suppose, but not into racing or autoX.

Anyway what I was wondering is which way should i go for a shock setup?

Tokico HP's or Illuminas , Kyb GR2 or AGX's ...I dont want to spend a ton and dont really think i need the adjustability, but will the non-adjustables be stiff enough?

And as for springs... I have it narrowed to Tein S Techs, but i hear these are a little soft and dont drop the car as much as advertised? is there anything that you guys can suggest in this neighborhood as an alternative setup? (tryin to keep the cost down in mind)

you want it kind of firm? hit up some bilsteins....prez808 has them on his eibach prokits and they are pretty firmishly harsh heheh...good though.

get some HR springs with bilsteins, cost a bit more but wont hurt the pocket as much, and i think HR is like wut a 1.8 drop?

invest in a camber kit as well.

there are alot of posts on it, took me days to search on here....still went with prokits thanks to prez808 (idiot) haha jk!

gr2 is going to give u a softer ride. agx or something else like bilsteins may be co.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

    Retro!

the skunk2 springs give the car a nice drop and not to jarring on ass. Coupled with agx's they are great. Excellent for the on and off ramps that u speak off. A camber kit is also a must. Another thing to look at for handiling is tires. But thats another story. But its all up to you.

Get the supercup sport kit with some koni yellow adjustables with a camberkit. Its not too low at all and youll have a nice amount of balance and not worry about cracking your oilpan or tranny. Which saves you money and later headaches in the future.

tein s tecs leave a comfy ride and they do drop the car a decent amount. If u get these you will notice a handeling difference. When you look at the car w teins it doesnt look like a hughe drop but if you compare it the stock springs its a big difference. I got em on my car and im very pleased with em

                Hey,
Thanks for all the input, i didnt even know about the bilsteins...As i said im tryin to keep cost to a minimum so i dont think the koni route is a good idea, the more i think about it, it think just entry level shock will do me just fine.

Out of the 3 entry level ones Tokico HP, KYB GR-2 and Bilstein...which ones are going to offer the best performance/stiffness...i really dont want the ricer bounce

I am running Tokico HP shocks (non-adjustable) and they are well-priced, good quality for a slight upgrade over stock. They are stiffer than stock, but not ridiculous and over a comfortable, but sporty ride. I had the Tokico HP springs with these shocks too, but the drop was ACTUALLY 0.75" up front and 1.25-2" in the rear (my suspension was not level to begin with and it leveled it out). Anyhow, they advertise to be 1.25" all around, NOT true! Because they drop the same all around, it retains the stock large front wheel gap look, I didn't like that but it handled decent.

Anyhow, my H&R sport springs handle better and the drop is 1.75" F/1.5" R , looks better and handles better.

                    Koni Cup Kit.

Neuspeed Race springs, Koni Yellow struts. Adjustability, affordability. Best of both worlds.

The Tein Stechs are mooshy as hell. They improved the ride over stock for me, and handleing, but its just not stiff enough.

i have some bilsteins on my accord, not sure how much they lowered it but im thinkin 2.0-2.25, unfortunately i do have a wee bit of the "ricer bounce" but im hoping that will soften up when i finally pick up shocks

X2...go with good products....Koni and Neuspeed are renowned and many ppl will vouch for this setup...

coilovers are cool...but i don't c many ppl using coilovers to their potential...how many ppl go to the race track every weekend? and need to adjust their suspension height every other day?...or change the dampening rates for each road they drive?

personally, I'd go with the Neuspeed Sports springs instead of the race springs, match it with the Koni Yellow's, add a sway bar kit and done and done and done

I'm gonna agree with h22sparkle. I have koni yellows on my lude and absolutely love them for adjustablity, ride, etc. Either the supercup sport kit or koni yellows with neuspeed sports/race I've heard is nice and gives about a 2" drop. Let us know what you decide!

Your ass wont pay, unless you have a hardbucket.

I could probably get a set for you, where are you located?
