ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Newbie question about rear balance shaft postion?

    Hey everyone,

My name is Roy and I've got a '92 civic with a '02 H22 swap that I'm working on for a customer and I'm a little stuck on the postion of the rear balance shaft pulley when putting everything back together.

The main resaon I ask is I was under the assumption that it doesn't matter where the pulley is pointed or if it's turned when your assembling it. I got worried when I read this article at post number #11, where "evol90accord" talks about it does matter and that the notch on the gear needs to be pointed to the 5 o'clock position. After hours and hours of searching this is the one and only post I can come up with that even remotely mentions that it does matter.

    http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?p=263810

I went through and did all the standard replacements ( new water pump, timing belt, and switched to a manuel adjuster) but now I'm stuck and want to make sure I get this back together correctly for him.

If it matters I did bump the gear without the belt on it and without the 6mm bolt in the back, so I don't know if that will cause me any issues.

TIA for any help or insight,

    Roy

If you take off the bolt on the backside of the motor that gives you access to touch the rear balance shaft with a phillips head screwdriver, what you need to do is this. Rotate the rear balance shaft until the phillips head screwdriver goes into the hole in the shaft and locks it in place. Once you have your new balance shaft belt on properly you can then remove the screwdriver and reinstall the bolt.

Sounds simple enough, I know this question didn't exactly pertain to your guys year Accord, but that was the best write up on the situation I was in that I could find.

      I really appreciate the help!
