I had rust welded and then covered with filler for reshaping purposes. I used a STRONG magnet and it didn't stick... So from my experience, any body filler on there at all should be evident with a magnet.

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Well this one has obvious rust showing:
If all checks out (I'm prepared to accept that much rust) if that's all there is my next issue - and I won't really want to pay for this is to lower the 4x4 look and at the same time I'll have to buy some all season tires as winters will get killed by summer driving.

If it is an LX, then the bumpers have been replaced... only trim level that came with black bumpers is the DX.

This one has manual windows and doors which makes me believe that it's the most basic version (DX?) What else can I look for to tell me which version this is?

He's Canadian, Matt... their LX is our DX.
There was no DX in Canada. EX-R is the top model (US SE excluded), equivalent to the US EX. Canadian EX = US LX, Canadian LX = US DX. All are good cars.
The $1200 car I mentioned above was actually very similar to that! It was a 92, so it had different tails and no power seatbelts, but it was a coupe, and the same color
That rust would probably be $1000 to fix at a cheapie shop like Maaco, if you have any around. Demand a cut-and-weld job, and make sure their work is quality. I had mine done twice, but it's holding up now.. and the paint is nice!

Yes we have maacos, but I don't think I'd go there - heard too many bad stories about them.
There are lots of little guy shops (1-2 men operations) that would probably be cheaper than a large shop due to lower overheads. I'll just have to get to know one and maybe have the whole car painted one day.. getting a little ahead of myself here as I haven't even taken this thing for a drive yet and here I am already painting it

Must be a dx
If it has manual rolldown windows on it then it's a dx. Someone must've put an lx emblem on it for some reason, but I'm pretty sure it's a dx. Keep an eye on that rust, and that engine , and you'll love that car. Welcome to the cb7 family man! Your gonna love this honda stuff!
