ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    tranny help

I have a h22a with a 91 of 92 dx tranny. The guy I brought it from said he forced it in. The problem is the tranny is not sitting straight. He said it is touching something I forget what it's called. But I could hear it rubbing. Can anyone help me I don't have the money for a H series tranny the tranny is fine I just want it to sit straight.

it might be the tranny mount thats the culprit...if he didnt line it up right when he did the swap then its going to be off

he said that I could get the mount tapped or something like that. Some kinda of modification to the mounts. The motor runs great and everything shifts fine. It's just that the tranny is not aligned straight is slanted.

well if the tranny isnt straight then youre going to go through axles like no tomorrow...you might have to remove the old tranny bracket from the car and reweld a new one to make it sit like its supposed to...thats if he didnt do that to begin with

When you mean not sitting straight you saying he didnt shim the mounts and shit properly since that is what your supposed to do with an auto-manual conversion.

                my PM:

                hey man.

when people convert to 5spd, they usually use a prelude transmission mount to make the motor sit straight, but that kind of mount only fits on a prelude transmission (h22) or a 92-93 EX tranny. a DX one wont work... the only way to keep the tranny you have straight would be to cut the old bracket off the engine bay and weld on the proper bracket onto the side, so it matches the size and location of the mount that is on top of your transmission. or buy a new prelude transmission and get a prelude mount, and add a couple washers to make things line up.

http://www.explicitspeedperformance.net/ is almost done creating a perfect mount for converting a CB7 to 5spd, but again, itll only work with prelude and 92-93 EX transmissions...
