ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

I Dont Know What To Do..... H22?

    Ok, so heres the scoop.

My buddy is owed some money by this guy in portland oregon, but the guy dosnt have any cach....so he is giving him his wrecked 1996 honda accord with an h22 swap and coilovers, strut bars, basically all the boltons. He asked me if I wanted it, because he really doesnt.

so I said sure.... Ill allways take a free car!

But alas. Here is my delema!

I am moving from Grants Pass, Oregon to Houston, Texas on march 1st, and I have limited cash. I dont know if I should even attempt this swap, but I dont know...

so now that you have the history,

    I have 3 questions.

    1. can 3 20 somethings that have been working on cars for a while complete this swap in 2-3 days? I mean is it possible?

    2. is this car going to have EVERYTHING I need, considering it runs and drives?

    3. would YOU swap an unknown status motor into your cb7, and attempt driving 2300 miles 2 weeks later?

first thing id do is see if the CD accord runs and if it does you know it works for the most part.

i think you should be able to do it in 2-3 days easily im a newb auto tech and i did my swap which was my first one ever it took me a total of about 24-36 hours it took me 4 days to do the swap only cause i was only working on it after 3pm whic is when foamypirate which is still in HS got home and hes hardly ever touched a car so if i can do it in that amount of time youll have no problems and the car should have everything you need, all you should have to swap over is the driver side mount but youll have to re wire it for obd1 which is really easy

edit: you might wanna get another header also cause i think that the cd header has a removable flex pipe and our cars dont correct em if im wrong

Should be within 2-3 days if all your parts come in on time. Thats the main part that held my swap forever. Took a damn week because parts wouldnt come on time. ***. Wasted my whole spring break on it. If you dunno the status it is always good to change out the timing/seals and all that great stuff to be on the safe side. Does the motor turn over? Start it see how it sounds. The wiring you can use your stock harness. But everything can be found in the swap faq. All you really need is the motor, trans, ECU and everything else in your accord should work just fine if its a standard and such. Personally driving 2300 miles is ummm yea haha after the swap better make sure everything is good. I would replace all the parts make sure its right and such. Then you shouldnt have a problem hopefully.

OK GUYS I AM GONNA DO IT!

I have like no money, but lets see if I can get r done!

does anyone know what size belt I need to et if I follow the wiki????

I havent really heard anyone suggest a place to start with on belt size.

I hope I can get this done.... and I hope I can do this for 50 bucks..... because that is my budget.

My friend said I can use his shop... he has a sealing mounted engine hoist, that should be nice!

I have dont quite a few engine swaps.... just not on a car with fuel injection.... this make me very antsy... LOL

I have put at least 3 engines into my friends datsun 510, and 2 into my datsun 280z, and a corvette lt1 into my dads chevy pickup... not to mention ALOT of engine drops on my old VW bug.

I dont know why the thought of doing this swap scares me so much... it is a friggin engine in a friggin car, and is almost a drop in! RIGHT?

So the car comes down on Sunday... and I have Monday - Thursday off...

I think I SHOULD be able to get this done!

I will take ALOT of good pics for you guys! and if anyone knows what alternator/ac belt I need let me know!

50$? Id like to see how you can do that unless you have everything you need already and are just going to spend that on fluids and miss stuff.

What do you think I am going to need??

This is why I made this post,

I know I am going to need some wire.... and a belt and a few misc. things... but I shouldn't need 2 much... I mean I have the ecu and engine....I am going to use My f tranny... even though I do have the h tranny, I dont want to swap that in right now..

what else am I going to need? if you can think of anything let me know!
