Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

1 month in and I have another CB7!

Well 5 weeks after buying my first Accord (91 wagon Lx) I went and picked up another one today. This one is a 93 EX sedan with a 5 speed. It has 181k miles, new tires, timing belt, water pump, valve cover gasket, front springs, distributor o-ring, swaybar ends, etc. I picked it up for $1250 and it seems to run and drive awesome. It has the normal rust on the rear quarters - but after I got it home and washed it I also noticed that there is some rust on the rear corner of the car - below the tail light. I am just trying to decide whether it is worth even trying fix or cover it up or if I should just drive the car for a while and sell it.

Also - the drivers window is all f#$# up - it looks like one of the bars is disconnected from the bottom of the window and bent. What is the best way to fix this?
Here are a couple crappy pics...

take the door panel off and look to see if the window mount is bent. I now when I got mine the window wasn't even screwed on. So when i rolled it down it fell to the bottom of the door and almost broke. The window will have two plastic clamps which will have a nutt molded into the clamp. Some times when people put the window in the over tight'n it and that nutt comes loss from the plastic and from what i now it can't be fixed you have to buy a new window. picked one up from the junk yard for 60 bucks. Hope this will help you window problem.

Not a bad looking car if you are fixin up the wagon I would say drive the crap out of the 93 and focus on one car. All up to you.

try removing the plastic side skirts covering the rocker panels and check the usual rust under there which tends to be hidden also have you given the front end a shake, ive had to do my wheel bearings a cpl times notorious problems. good find, i scored one like it for my old lady, same price range but in black. Get a new regulator for the drivers side window off ebay or at your junk yard if you plan on keeping it there bad for bending all to sheit

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I love driving this car- the 5 speed is a blast. My wife even drove it last night and commented on how nice this car drives. I drove it for one day and filled up the gas and barely got 20 mpg on over 113 miles. I realize this is not a big enough test - but I was really hoping to get closer to 30 with this car. We had a high here of around 5 degrees yesterday with temps overnight of close to minus 10. I really hope that the extreme cold is why the mpg were so bad. Any thoughts?

I tore into the door today and removed the window regulator assembly. I bent it all back into shape, pressed the round ball into the nylon slide again, lubed it all up with lithium grease, sprayed the rubber moldings down with silicone lube and put it back together. It works perfectly now. The one thing that keep stumping me is how the rubber molding is supposed to fit into the front upper corner of the door. It seems like no matter how it goes in it just doesn't look right?

Also - I noticed that the door top above the mirror is all rusty - and the door jamb that mates to that area also has rust, It seems like a very, very strange spot to rust - what would cause this?

I checked tire pressure and all the tires were at 28 so I inflated them up to 40 a couple days ago. I am keeping track of mileage and I will report back my results. I always run higher air pressure because it usually nets a couple mpg better for me.

I must say that this 93 EX is much, much quieter and seems to ride way nicer than the 91 LX wagon that I have. Is there a difference in the insulation and sound deadening in them?

These cars are almost addicting - In the month I have owned and been shopping for one I have seen at least 5 of them for less than $500 and come accross a couple parts cars for 100-200 bucks. I just wish I could find a rust free one that had a blown engine or something! I think the chances of that are slim to none up here in MN.

This weekend I tried to track down a fuel smell I had when I filled the tank up complete and discovered that the gasket between the fuel tank and the meter setup was torn and definitely not sealing correctly. When I filled the tank up completely a bunch of gas would leak out and spill on the ground. I have the gasket on order from the dealer - but in the mean time I did my best to get it put back in place.

The temps here in MN this week have been 40 degrees and I have driven 219 miles. This morning I got fuel and put in 6.627 gallons - netting more than 33 miles to the gallon! I have no idea why there is such a big difference (ambient temps, meter gasket, new air filter and plugs?) but my gas mileage on this tank (and I filled it until it was to the top of the fill spout!) went up more than 33%! I am a happy camper and obviously I will keep logging it to see if it stays high. Sweet!

Oh - and I sold my $320 wagon (I ended up with almost 1000 into it) for $1350 Monday night. The buyer was a happy camper and so was I so everybody wins!

Haha, it gets addicting doesnt it? I feel like honda's are like that, once I buy that supra I'm definitely getting another honda. And nice flip on that wagon, I love how great resale value is on honda's.

They are pretty addicting - mostly because they are so plentiful and cheap. I am big time into Jeeps and that has been my obsession for the past 8 or 9 years - but these Honda's are pretty fun to for a daily driver at least

Now if I could just find one without any rust here in MN I would be a happy camper!

Haha, that's a tall order, for some reason rust seems to be their only downfall for the earlier models, especially in an area like that where you see all the elements. If you can find one with minimal rust and just fix it right away, that seems liek your best option.

Tell me more? Are you doing ECM tunes or something? I am very interested in hearing more about that!

I really liked the wagon but I found this 93 that just is a much better car. It has been maintained much, much better and drives a lot nicer than the wagon did. Besides - the 5 speed is fun to drive!

ECU tuning. I will tune for 91 octane as well as E85.
