ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Any Recommendations?

I am new to the Board and I am planning to fix up my CB7. My wife and I have owned a 1990 Honda Accord 4-door for the past few years now and I just have to say I love the car. It is in Great condition and I am planning to get Air intake, Headers, and the Race Exhaust put on. I read the beginners guide, it was a great help, and I now have the basic idea for modification. I would like to go first for Performance (get the engine stuff first) and then go for wheels and possible body kit; however, I am planning on a body kit that is not “too over the top”. I have been price checking all over the web on several things and I have discovered that the price range for headers, exhaust and air intake are huge!!!!! I have found things on e-bay for $60-$70 and other places for $230. Can anybody please give me some recommendations on brands that are good and things to stay away from? I would like to save money because I do not have a lot of it , but I do not want to get anything that is going to blow up or break after a week.

what kind of intake are you looking for? Short Ram or Cold Air? to answer this question, what's the weather like there majority of the year? wet or dry?

if you're looking at short rams, but don't want to pay any arm an a leg, just look for the cheapest SRI there is on ebay, buy it and go buy your self a K&N filter from the auto parts store. those ebay cheapy filters aren't worth crap i hear. the reason why you would want a short ram is if you're in a wet area, you are less likely to suck water up into the engine and hydrolocking it which is what you would most likely do if you went with the cold air intake that puts a tube all the way down to your bumper. also a SRI tube is just a tube. when you're buying one of those more expensive ones, all you're really buying is the name.

as for headers, we'll have to let some one else chime on on that because i haven't gotten that far yet. i'm still in the process of getting mine up and running first.

its good that you have awakened to the CB7 goodness...

all ur plans sound great...but be careful with bodykits...try to stick with a plastic kit rather than a fiberglass one; although the fiberglass kits are cheaper, they are harder to fit on a car and risk cracking.....I myself wouldn't want to opt out of Honda's bodywork, but thats just me

can't wait to c some pix of ur car...welcome to CB7tuner!

Thanks for the feed back all of you,

I agree with sticking with the Traditional Honda Body, although I am going to get better wheels and rims and a paint job. I may go with Ebay to get my engine stuff because you can get some good deals. I love the fact there is so much interest in the CB7. It is great that so many things are available to buy for the car. I was going to sell the car, but there is no way I am letting this go. It is going to be fun getting some mods on it. I will post some pics hopefully soon.

These are some current problems the car has now:
I need to get a new trunk lid (a guy hit the back of it not paying attention when my wife was driving) and the CV joints are going out which will be fixed soon. I also need a new Speed sensor.

All intakes are basically made the same unless they're made of plastic or whatever. You can spend $300 on an AEM intake or $10 for one off ebay without a fancy name and $45 at AutoZone for a K&N filter (When the ebay one gets dirty of course) and then you're good to go for 1,000,000 miles accord to K&N.

Next, choosing a header. It depends on your setup. If you're doing simple bolt-ons, DC Sports or Megan will do you Just fine. I reccomend Megan because it looks a lot nicer, is a fraction of the cost, and is still well constructed. If you go with cams, pistons, etc., getting a custom header made might be your better choice. I don't know if GReddy makes a header for CB7s, but if they do, they have good parts but for what it costs, you could still go custom.

Exhaust. That is entirely your preference. If you want something loud and obnoxious, try out the Apex'i N1. If you like a little deeper tone, try the GReddy Evo2. The Apex'i WS2 is a good in between and looks almost stock but still looks good. Another option is custom piping and the muffler of your choice. I reccomend looking into Magnaflow.

Post up with any other questions.

yeah, for truely noticable power gains, i say youll want a tame muffler, a short ram intake, and a new e manifold.

Now for the header, theres nothing wrong with the cheapies on ebay, BUT, as stated before, make sure you get a quality filter element. the ones that come with the egay cheaps will kill your motor.

for a new muffler, just look around, dont get something thatll get u pulled over alot...i made that mistake...lol

for a header, i just got a new ebay one. its from a seller named Tuningpros, and it fits PERFECTLY. i highly recommend it. HOWEVER, there are some issues with there packaging, in that they do it very shittly. now i got lucky and mine was undamaged, but according to there feedback, some ppl have gotten damaged goods, so be careful.

hope ive helped and welcome to the family man!

You're not JDM until you have a car built in ohio with tons of bolt ons from ebay.
