Hi, im kinda new to the site but ive been reading for a while(great site by the way). Well first off idrive a 91 auto lx. About three weeks ago the s light started blinkig every now and then. When it would blink the car woud only shift from 1st to 4th and would completely skip 2nd and 3rd gear and when i turned the car off and back on it would go back to normal and the s light would stop blinking. I thought the problem might be the tcu so i piked one up at a junk yard and it stop doing that for a few of days untill today, it started doing it again. Well thats the first problem the second problem is the car wont start when it gets to its normal tempereature, so when i tun it off and its still warm i gotta wait like 5-10 min for it to cool down so that it turns on again. I did a tune up about a month and a half ago so all the ignition stuff isnt that old. I could use some help so any imput would be greatly apreciated. Thanks in advance

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Pull the code first. Always give us the code first.
May need a new tcu, maybe not. Pull the code.
*edit*, I see you said you already got another tcu, sorry
And that second problem may be your main relay, they commonly fail, but are usually easy to fix
on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

to pull codes, open the cover over the a/c blower (there should be 2 or 3 screws, i forget, then just yank it off), and jump (connect using some form of wire or metal) the connector hidden in there. for tranny codes, the s blinks, for engine codes, the CEL blinks.
also, too lazy to find the threads for this, sorry. but there in here somewhere.

if its skipping gears like you said....its not the main relay...what it MAY be....look under your hood....look on the tranny itself..you see (4) small cylinders sitting on it....THOSE are your transmission shift solenoids..THOSE could be going out!.....check your TCM and your SHIFT SOLENOIDS! ..change em all out! and change out your TCM to eliminate ALL the shift problems! now, you said the "S" light flickers....the TCM is starting to go out! or...it could be your VSS starting to go as well!
just thought Id throw in my .02 cents of experience to help a fellow cb7er!!!92 LX. A6 with GUDE bullfrog Cam. M2S4 transmission..Gutted H23 intake mani. The rest you will just have to find out!

This is the chart i found http://home.earthlink.net/~michaelp.../TCM_codes1.PDF. Accordig to this I have a messed up lock up control solenoid and a messed up shift control solenoid. SN2BH22CB7 are the transmission shift solenoids the same thing as a shift control solenoid?
