ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    D4 always lit

Ok.[sigh] Ive been tryin to solve this problem since last year. for those of you who care to take the time reading this you've prob never heard of anything like it.

[Most times when the weather is wet, damp, moist etc this happens.]

I start the car and D4 is always lit no matter what gear im in... sooooo when I turn it on im in P and D4 sooo when I go to reverse im in R and D4 and then when I put it in d4 I start out in the equivalent of 3rd gear (which as you know if u put ur car in 3rd as your 1st gear u will go NOOOO WHERE AT ALLLL)

So to start off I have to put the car in 1st (which means 1 and 4 are lit up)
1st gear is equivalent to the real 1st gear but 2 3 and 4 are all the same gear which is equivalent to 3rd.

So pretty much I have two gears (1st and 3rd)

Now ive replaced the transmission soooo I know it’s not the transmission that’s causing the problem...

Today ive taken out the TCU and looked at it and there is no corrosion, moisture, or any apparent problems with it. Sooo I put it back together and sealed all the cracks w/ silicon to make sure it’s not a moisture problem

Pretty much after the car has been running for like 10-15 mins the D4 will blink off and the shifter will make the same sound as when you press the break to go from P to any gear.
Ive taken the center console out and noticed it was a little box and it seems to have a magnet in it.... ive tried taking the box appart but it’s like u cant (no bolts or screws in it.) and u can’t really take it off because it’s attached to the plastic in the mechanizm

I do notice a ticking sound when the error is going away underneath the car of close to the cylenoids.... I couldn’t really pinpoint where exactly (making the sound it does when you press the break to shift out of P)

sooo really im at a standstill cause I cant diagnose the problem ... im pretty sure its spittin me a code but I don’t wanna go to the dealer and them b like oh welllll u gotta spend like 800$ to fix it...sooo if you’ve heard of this before or know a solution then feel free to give me insight.

Im sorry but I hate program cars... all the shit eventually breaks or like malfunctions... id rather a stripped down car and deff a stick, but of course only sunroofs, rear calipers, rims, etc. come stock on the luxery models (and its very rare to find a an EX or V6 4door in stick) but to make our car a manual it would cost 3k ( and I don’t have parts or labor people to get hookups from soooo yeah, don’t post about me converting, I would appreciate that, ty ^_^ )

Hey, we talked in the chat when the site was down, I would def. try another tcu first. And you can pull the codes yourself, no need to go to the dealership yet. (If ever)

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

I think if the tcu's messed up already, it won't help, but you can seal the new one if theres a lot of moisture getting in.

Good to hear that. I hate to hear about ghost problems that people chase forever and never get fixed. Like my old 90 lx...
