ABS light came on! and Brake lamp light stays on!

Everything negative seems to happen to me all at once. Everything was fine yesterday, but today I was driving aound and the ABS light came on. Im pretty sure the car's safety isnt in jeapordy, but this will be a huge hassle.

Also I have had this other problem ever since I bought the car a couple of months ago.

On startup the lights on the dash are fine, but after a few brakes, this small rectangular red light comes on below the car diagram which tells you if your doors or trunk are open.

Its the brake lamp light. I assume it has something to do with the high mounted brake light inside the rear windshield, maybe the light burnt out?? what else can cause this?

have you checked your brake lamps to "verify" if any are out?

one time I accidentally replaced a burned out break lamp with the wrong type of bulb (single filament as opposed to a double filament)...this caused the dash break lamp to come on after driving and breaking for a few minutes.

I'm a noob, so I can't really help you with the ABS light...seach results?

1. Check your rear bulbs for any that arent lighting up when the light comes on
2. Check your brake fluid level in the main and ABS reservoirs.

My brake light comes on occasionally also, not sure why, the fluid in both reservoirs is fine and my brake lights are all working and the correct ones....

Im not sure whats happening, I took the car to get my right axle replaced because it was exploded.

Anyways, when I started it to take it there the abs didnt come on. When it did earlier I forgot to put down the e brake and i dragged for half a block. maybe that caused it?
I not used to a working ebrake because my mr2 didnt have a working one and I just parked it in grear, so I keep forgetting that the brake is on.

I'll check the fluids when I get it back.

Also my back brakes are working ok except one but thats probable burnt out.

as for the high mount, it isnt lighting, but thats probably because it was disabled because I have a spoiler with a brake light which works.

and whatever is done to the car is due to a 18 year old hs student which I got the car from. Like me, he is an autoshop student so he decided to do some stuff to it, but didnt do a great job in many cases so I will have to fix his mistakes.

Check the Brake bulb in oe of your rear tails. I think theres an ABS sensor to you can get checked when u have time. My ABS light is on to, jus haven't had time to check it.

my abs lite is lit too. When you check the obd1 connector it should throw you a code. I went to honda to get an alignment and was talkin to the tech and he told me that its was the modulator. N E way check you obd1 and get the code and talk to a tech.

my brake lamp was stayin on in the dash also, and it was the 3rd brakelight in the window, I replaced the bulb and nothin so I took off the back deck and Voila the brake lamp bulb holder thingy wasnt plugged in, check that i plugged it in and i havent had the light on the dash since.,

yeah, maybe this is it because it has a spoiler light and usually people disable the 3rd light.

how did you remove the deck to check it out?

PS ABS light has not come back, so that was a wierd one time only thing.
