ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Fuel Pump; 3 wires, which ones for sensor (meter) and which for the pump?

hey well today my car didnt start, its trying to start but wont, i got out my spark tester, get spark in every plug, so its not the ignitor or the coil or the dizzy. Start thinking its the fuel pump, take out my back seat (coupe) and open up the access hole (3 philiphs screws) i see wires running to it. First i listen for the fuel pump, its supposed to make noises when you turn the ignition to "ON" nothing. So i unplug the plug with 3 wires running to it, one is thick yellow with silver marking, which runs somewhere farther down where i cant see. There there is a green/brown and a yellow/white wire which both run to the top of the fuel tank, i belive this is the fuel guage meter? Now i check for voltage, i get 11.5 and 6.5 on the wires running to the top, and i get 0 to the wire running farther down.

I belive my fuel pump is not getting any power, i heard this is caused by the main relay, however i re-soldered it just 6 months ago or so, and drilled a lot of holes for ventalation, and the car is in a garage at about 4 degrees celcius, which is pretty damn cold. Before my car wouldnt start but the "S" light (sports button on auto) would flash, i would wait 5 mins and car will start, now it dont start at all, so is it still most likely the main relay?

    Thank you!

Me thinks you're at the fuel level sending unit access cover. Fuel pump should be on the other side of the tank, which I hear is only accessible by dropping the tank.diagram

But you can bypass the main relay and check for power to the pump. Should be in a stickie.
