ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

I'm pretty sure it will drop in physically, but you're gonna have to swap your ecu and tcm to obd2 or revert the new engine back to your obd1, which I'm not sure is possible.

You're right. And it's possible. There are harnesses availible to revert to OBD1. I believe an OBD1 F22B2 ECU would be needed for this.

Installation is about as involved as with an H22. However, the F22B2 is a really crap engine. The F22A is a much better design.

edit: I was thinking F22B1... F22B2 is still a crap engine

Depends on what year f22b2 they started them in 94-97 lx and crap. Yea it should fit its almost like the F but the header and I think Intake Manifold have different port patterns. If you could just stay with the f22a. Head flows better and not much modification required. How much are you gettin this f22b2 for if you dont mind me asking.

The F22A 5 speed transmission should bolt up with no problems. For free, it's a good engine. If your car needs a motor, it's good. If your F22A is in good working condition, then there's no need. It's no better, probably worse.

                my f22a4 is dead

my F22a4 doesnt run, timing belt broke and Im pretty sure now that it has bent valves. Does anyone know exactly what mods have to be done to make the 97 f22b2 sohc(non-vtec) work. and can I switch the flywheel assembly?

flywheel should be the same size as f22a. And the rest is just an obd2-1 conversion. Also you would need an obd1 ecu.
