ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

My car just runs rough, not sure what it is but I have a bunch of fuel system cleaner/injector cleaner in the tank.

Is the car suppose to die if you unplug the IAC?
    wat?

It should stay running...barely. But if the engine isn't running right to start, it'll probly die when the IACV is unplugged.

Great job guys, now we just need to pinpoint the delayed starting several people (myself included) have been posting about. I'm still stuck on that one and have giving up for now :P

To help out even further, if you having a surging problem there is a ring around the air bypass valve. turnit to the left to stop the surging.
won't turning it to the left make it even more loose?

i just replaced my fast idle valve yesterday and MOST of the idle problems are gone
sometimes the idle will go up and down a little....
                what could it be...
do i need to adjust the thingy inside the fast idle valve?
or is it something else causing this problem?

I had to re-adjust my idle screw three times! in just a few months...it kept backing out and causing the surging idle...it's stayed this time...

i dont get it? i dont think i have an idle problem? my car when i turn it on, it goes to about 1700-1800 on a good day to warm up i guess, and then when its getting up to normal temp ( to warm up the car ) it goes back down and it cna go down to about 1100 at that, and then once i start u kno putting it n R or D it'll stay around 800-900 RPM's max.. do i have an idle problem? also when im cold whne i first turn it on it rises by itself to 1700-1800 so yeah i think its just a warm up feature.. i likee!

from the way you describe it you do not

the problem comes when your car idles at 2000 (not 1800) and stays there...
or when your idle bounces...pulses...goes back and forth...whatever...

900 up to 1800 back to 900 back to 1800 back to 900 etc etc...

normal is 1500-1800 till warm up then slowly goes down to 700-900...then after driving it ALWAYS goes back to 700-900 range at a stop/neutral.

Open up the top of the valve and put a screwdriver into one of the cuts on either side of the valve and turn it clockwise in order to see if its loose. It should be tight. I used two screwdrivers- one in each cut and turned them both at the same time.
I actually did that before I left for school this morning. Suprisingly mines was loose, I just tightend it down. I noticed a small bit of a difference today but not much...
