Very high idle!

I feel like a noob because I can't figure out why I have such high idle. I have adjust the idle screw so many times, I have a block plate on my egr, I took off the iacv and cleaned it with carb cleaner. Now before I did that the car would idle at 1500 on start up and go up to 2500 after warm up, Now after I cleaned it it starts at 1200 and go to 3000 after warm up. Im stump because I been messing with it all day yesterday help please and I have search!

Check your coolent level and make sure there are no air bubbles in the coolent system

check your hoses, the ones that go to the throttle body. also check your iav and its hose

hmm is one of ur vaccum lines disconnected? if one fell off the niple its meant to be one it may be sucking in too much air. i think. im not very learned tho. or would that have nothing to do with anything? hey...only trying to help. good luck tho

yes it would, try it, disconnect one of more the lines on the throttle body and looks at the rpms, u can even hear the engine act weird

especially on auto cars, the icv(idle control valve), controls the amount of air that is entered thru the IM(intake manifold). on the ficv(fast idle control valve), it controls its the same but it lessens as the operating temps go up to bring to idle(i.e. warmup on cold starts)

i know this sounds wierd but check your battery my battery was dead and the alternator had to work more so the engine would rev higher to give it more juice.... also is the engine light on. stick ur auto?

Dude you hear any vacuum leaks sounds like a loud suction. Look for that. Sounds like thats your problem. You rehooked your MAP at tims recheck the hookup and make sure the lines arent cracked.

My car is 5-speed I got a new icv put it on and now my car doesn't start! I thought I was out of gas so I went and got gas in the gastank put it in my car and she does nothin now I hate the f22b1 crap!

did u check your throttle cable. i meesed up one of my throttle cables the other day putting my notor back in my car, so i had to use my old throttle cable and mine did the same thing to so try adjuusting your cable. if that doesnt work check for vacum , throttle body gasket leakedge by putting your hand over the throttle body if the car cuts off the u dont hav a leak if it does cut off then u know u hav a leak

also check your tps i broke mine one day beating up on a mini cooper s and my car wouldnt idle under 3000rpms

so it was u huh....QUIT DEFILING YO MAMA'S CAR......j/k, my advice, put a nice bullet hole in the motor(i have my own reason for hatin the f22b1)

Naw I just bought new plugs like 15 minutes ago, it will stumble but than nothing! It just turns over now no running.
