ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    K&N or Not?

Hey guys. I have a 90 Accord Ex. My question is how do you guys feel about K&N filters? Some people say that they can damage throttle bodies and don't reccomend them. Are K&N filters worth the investment? Thanks in advance, huero.

imo k&n air filters are the best. i want the one that goes in the stock filter box. they give you better performance but you don't sacrifice the main purpose of the filter which is to clean the air that is going in the engine.

I used to have K&N Filter on my stock airbox. Used for atleast 30,000 miles. I didn't have any problems. I don't know how can it damage the throttle body.

My understanding is that on some cars the oil will find it's wat to the throttle body and gum it up. On some cars the throttle body is real close to the filter. I want the filter that goes in the stock box.

oil goes into the intake manifold on the stock set up. it's going to do it anyway. later.

Would a drop in K&N stock filter element be better than a cone filter stuck on the stock plastic tubing? Right now I've taken out the resonators using some cheap Canadian Tire brand air filter.

actually, with k&n, you do sacrifice actual filtering.

the reason why they are the "best" is because they are so unrestrictive that they dont really filter anything.

                    just get any cone filter.

K&N stock filter: More low end torque (Good for area with stop and go.)
K&N corn filter: More high end torque (Highway driving, high rpm usage)
