ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Making OWN GROUND WIRE KIT.

I wanted to ask if anybody had the link to the mini - 4 gauge wire kit set. I think someone posted this a while back and it had everything (almost) needed to make your own wires.

I found the round ended link terminals at radio shaq and I can pretty much get wire easily.

My question is, what type of vice crimp exactly do I need? How much will it cost?

    Can I just use pliers?
    hahahahah

Use some crimpers, not those radio shack kind that have all the different holes for different types of wire, meaning strippers, with pliers your gonna have a hard time and you still wont have a good connection, it will loosen up eventually and might come off, just go to home depot and get some kline crimpers there about $20 bucks or so, they are worth the money so if later you have any other type of work the requires cutting or crimping you will have the tool

To crimp mine, I stuck them in the bench vice and flattened them out. They're not going anywhere :P

Does that work though? I'm still a bit unsure as to how to link and crimp the 4 gauge wires onto the loop hold terminals.

not those, have you ever gone to a stereo shop and see the tool they use to crimp, its like that but it only has the teeth to crimp, it doesnt have a lil holes used to strip wires

If you guys can find a picture it'd really help. But I'll check out the shops and ask, but I don't know if car audio shops will sell crimpers.

IMO, its usually cheaper to just buy the kits off ebay. They are obviously really cheap, and come with a distribution block.

Only reason to go custom would be if you couldnt find a color you liked or something. I ended up making my own, and it was a pain, and more expensive.
