ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    DID I bend any valves?

I tuned the crank on my f22b one revolution clockwise and I had the timing belt off on the cam gears 1 tooth. if you are looking at the motor from the t-belt side, the cam gears would be off one tooth in the clockwise direction. I used a ratchet to turn it and it felt normal when I turned it. I have no idea how hard it is to bend a valve, so im somewhat worried. I dont want to drop in my motor if it has some bent vlaves, but I have no idea how to find out other than a compression test.

??? just put it back one tooth and put it together....You cant bend valves by manually turning the engine...I havent seen anyone do it before you would be the first if that was even possible.

i believe you can be off from 1 to 2 tooth before anything crappy happens to your engine but lets wait for another member to respond.

i did the same thing with my TypeR motor, i was so paranoid afterwards. but alas, it was fine. i would imagine its pretty hard to bend a valve by hand,

Yah no way you would bend them from that. You would need to have pulled the timing belt off and then turned it (it would have felt ALOT harder to turn all the sudden when the piston hit the valves). There are cam gears that have adjustments that are closer to 5 or 6 teeth adjustment in both directions people use all the time. You CAN bend a valve by hand, but like I said the timing belt would have to be sersiouly off time or completely off the motor and you would have to put some effort into turning the crank. Most bent valves are from the timing belt braking while the motor is running or from a very very bad timing belt job.
