Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

    best exhaust

so i'm in the market for a new exhaust system. i'm in the process of purchasing i/h/e but before i did i was curious about what would be the best exhaust for my car. i want something that soungs good, but not raspy. i want a pur, something i can hear while i'm driving because right now all i hear is my engine, my stock exhaust is very quiet. is there a good company that you all would recommend for a professional exhaust system and how much hp could i expect to gain because i know all the systems on ebay claim at least 10. j/w if that was true or not. thanks.

APexi ws2 or the RSR seem to be the two popular ones. I am running just custom 2.5" piping from cat back with an ebay muffler at the end. Also have two resonators to quiet down the damn thing. I have no rasp and its quiet until you get on it.

Honestly, a good 90% of exhaust is subjective.

Ideally you want between 2.25" and 2.5" piping (depending on motor...2.25 for a NA F and 2.5 for a F22-t or H22), and mandrel piping. (actually, 3"+ is better for turbo -deev)

Material can matter depending on where you live (it's corrosion resistance, etc)

Price, Sound, all that is up to you as far as what you want for sound and what you're willing to spend.

You might be able to get a muffler shop to fab you up something cheap, or you could go with a Tsudo Ebay and chances are you'll be very loud.

You could also go with something like the WS2 or the RS*R and have a quieter exhaust.

Judging by what you said, my recommendation would be either the World Sport 2 (which I have on my car), the Greddy SP2 or the RS*R.

Well, I have a custom Magnaflow dual setup..... I love it... It has a lower sound than most and when you put your foot down, man... It sounds great... Ohhhh.... The 2.5 for your pipes will work wonders....

By the way if you’re looking for something affordable for right now..

I recommend a Apexi WS ver 1 or ver 2. The version 2 has a rolled exhaust tip and looks a little nicer however both ver 1 and ver 2 give you nice performance gains while keeping the car sounding pretty much stock. If you don't want to "turn up your music" because of a drowning exhaust, then this is the exhaust for you. It gets somewhat sorta audible if u have a H22a and hitting v-tec but also I think the air-intake is more louder than the exhaust itself =)

I agree, Apexi WS sounds great, I had mine (version 1) with a dc ceramic 421 header, I think that v2 gives you more clearance cause of how the canister is shaped so if you car is loser than about -1.5 in v2 would be my suggestion

any GOOD muffler will sound nice even if u can see through it just make sure its got actual packing in it not just a hollow tin can like a 40$ ractive muffler u can tell how a muffler is gonna sound by picking it up and looking through it... and bigger pipes mean louder so going big isn't always good once u reach the max flow and for a 4 cylinder 2 inch is more then enough.. mainly pick for the size the muffler inlet

i'm running 2 1/4 custom bent cat back with a chrome ultra fit special order muffler the muffler was about 300$ canadian for me but sound, looks great not raspy it has good packing in it!!! that kills the rasp u can also add like others already posted resonators if your running cheeper mufflers to kill the sound and still get good flow

Hope it helps ya a little

I too am in a similar situation. I want the best exhaust for my car because nothing but the best touches my car. I want it to sound perfect, I don't want any of the ones that sound like a weedwacker. The sound must be between 10dB to 30dB when idle. 60dB to 70dB when cruising, the sound level mustn't exceed the sound of my CAI when at WOT and I want to see gains. I must not have an ugly looking exhaust so it must be shiny. The price can not exceed 300 dollars.

                        LOL just having some fun.

I/H/E are very common topics which have been discussed many times, browsing through the previous threads should help somewhat on your decision.

A request of the exhaust clips may be more helpful in your decision, that way you can hear what it sounds like and to see whether or not you like the sound. Good sound differ for people, I like the sound of RSR. Quiet/stockish at normal driving and a bit louder at WOT and better gain over stock.

I/H/E should have a different sound then another car with different design of I/H/E. Changing air flow changes sound.

With WS, it's not the canister that's the issue, it's the piping that hangs low.

My WS2 canister looks just like any/all the WS1's I've seen.

what ever muffler you choose, definately go with larger piping, thats what gets the more deep tone... I have a apexi N1 it has a lovable deep sound in idle but wen driving, i have 2 keep my windows closed to stand it or at least blast my music... i love the N1 cuz it gives the accord a much better look but if u want sound the best sound, i would go with the apexi worldsport... gives it a good sound u wouldnt expect from an accord, i personally dont liek the way it looks on a 4gen accord but 5th gen is looks decent
