ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    trans noises?

90 accord auto, when i start the car it makes a whinning noise that goes away when I put it in gear. As your diving when you are driving slow (25mph) or slowing coming to a stop, the noise returns and is changing with speed. I'm sure is something simple, I just dont know what it is. The transmission fluid is clean and full.I havent had any problems with the cars' performance, doesnt slip or anything shifts and drives normally. Now that its cold I am back to driving the car everyday, instead of the bike, so I want to check this before it gets too bad. Its hard to explain as it doesnt do it all the time , just some of the time. Its getting louder as time goes on, at least it seems that way. (Probably more just my paraniod side thinkin "that cant be good")

if you rev it in park and the noise gets louder its not the trans, and if its doing it while its parked pop the hood and rev it and listen to where its coming from

Based on your description, it's most likely coming from one of your pulleys, I had the exact same problem, just try lubricating the pulleys and the noise should disappear. Hope this helps...

        okay

did that... it seems to be coming from the transmission. I seem to remember reading an old post that mentioned something about a noise similiar to the one I'm hearing caused by a starter or alternator prob? I cant remember... tried searching but no luck yet, still looking. Thought I might get lucky and someone would know exactly what it was. But youre right if it was the trans, I would think it would slip or something...and wouldnt make the noise in park, and in drive.

I'll try looking at the pulleys next. a little grease there cant hurt.
