ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Coolant leak from back of engine..??

I have a coolant leak from the rear of the engine.....and its not dripping...i would pour coolant in the rad and it would just leak out....
I couldnt exactly see where its coming from so i jacked the car up and removed the driver side front wheel to gain more access. So i went under with a light and looked, but didnt see anything. All i can see is that its running down the block and dripping down to the floor........
the only place i suspect but I DONT KNOW AT ALL........is that there is a piece of pipe that goes across the block.....its black and its in line with the engine, there is a hose connected to it and that hose runs to the firewall......so i dunt have a clue
i can only see it leaking out, but from where, i dont have a damn clue

And everything was fine, thermostat was good the coolant was good.....everything was a ok......
any1 know where the leak is coming from....its sad to say but i think the engine is gone....

    PLZ HELP.......any11111

Does it seem to be coming from the driver or passenger side of the car? Well just to give you an idea.

If coming from the driver side more on the side of the car than the rear, it might be the water pump failing, or the o-ring on the water pipe going into the water pump is leaking.

It could also be one of your heater core hoses has sprung a leak and is causing your coolant woes.

i had the same problem on my car. it would leak from that hard pipe on top of the exaust. i found out that the problem was within the lower part of the thermostat housing where that pipe conects to it. there is a seal that went bad down there. as soon as i replaced t hat seal everything was fine.

Yep a small leak around the thermostat housing can cause that quite a bit of radiator hoses running to it. From the back of the motor there are only two hoses for the heater hose and that one big plastic one. IF thats cracked that will be a bitch.

Will the engine need to be removed........OR......can this be a good excuse for an H22

the leak is coming from the driver side, right side of engine at the back...if you are lying underneath your car, look at the oil filter and the leak would be coming from the left

so from what i have read , the o ring around the thermostat housing gone....expensive , alot of work???
this is my hand and foot so , i need the best solution...
          Thanks guys

There isn't anything in that car that can't be done with the engine still in. Other than of course machining the block.
