ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Dont know what 9004 is, but your 'night time' driving lights are 9006. I honestly never heard of meccatune, but I can tell you that I recently bought an HID kit with 8000K bulbs cuz it was a great deal. Only thing is now I wish that I got something in between 4300 and 6000K. 8000 looks cool, but the higher the kelvin the less light emitted.

If you go HID with the OEM housings don't go any higher than 5300k. Pictured is a 4300k OE Philips HID bulb/ballast from a BMW e46:

wow im from toronto too i could do a local pick up ... but somthing about it seems abit fishy

so with oem housing i shouldnt go over 5300k? im guessing it would just melt your headlights

No, 5300k is the light color emitted in Kelvin.....not the actual operating temperature. HIDs typically run cooler than halogen bulbs, and the ballasts only draw 35 watts after start-up.

Well....but that's not a pic of a projector. That pic I posted is if a BWM bulb/ballast in an Accord headlight......not the projector but a reflector housing.

Well keep in mind while a 8000k kit may look cool (blue) there is not much usable light. The whiter you get the better, 4300k imo being the best option.... auto manufacturers still use this temp for their lighting. And although some projectors look blue, it's just the projectors re-directing the light that causes this effect.....the bulbs are white 4300k almost everytime.

retrofit ftw!!!...too bad i cant afford one lol...but if he get the 4300k, that temp will be the highest number of lumens, which would be extremely bright and glare like no other in stock housing.
i say get 6000k for lower lumens plus a whiter color
