ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

    "Brembo" - EBay rotors

    Hey all,

Wondering if anyone here has tried out the "Brembo" rotors that are always on ebay. The price seems excellent for two cross drilled and/or slotted brembo's. I've heard that the rotors are brembo solids that get drilled and/or slotted by a third party. That part scares the schnikies out of me... if anybody has tried these out and likes/dislikes them, a post would be appreciated

you are right about the cross drilled part they are done by a 3rd party.

to be honest, you really dont need all that crap on a street car. just go with the brembo blanks.

theres nothing wrong with buying them on ebay...the reason they are so cheap is because they have almost no overhead costs that they have to factor into the products and generally they are drop shipped straight from the manufacturer anyways.

I have also looked into the Brembo rotors, I think we are going to get the slotted and drilled ones. I didnt know they were on ebay though, I might look into that

Thanks a lot for the info, this will help...side note - anybody tried and liked the braided brake lines on ebay? my buddy's convinced its the fastest way to performance braking. I've mostly fooled around with engine mods....not so much braking and suspension, so I'm out of my depth. Thanks a lot!

Like stated above, most Brembo rotors on ebay are Brembo blanks that have been cut by a different manufacturer. This weakens the integrity of the brake disc. Real slotted or cross-drilled brembo's cost a considerable amount of more money.

              ...adjust accordingly

i agree with linx completely. go to tire rack and by real brembo rotors. they are like 35.00 a peice. you dont need the crossdrilled or slotted. go slotted only if yu wanna upgrade.

I have crossdrilled and slotted Brembo rotors. Got them from eBay for $100 shipped. (fronts only)

I've had them on for 2.5 years, and I've never had an issue. I've taken them to the track a few times, and I've braked hard on the street. No warping or cracking. The only problem I have right now is that the inside pad on the driver's side wore down to the metal (my calipers don't clamp evenly, apparently). There's a nice gash on my rotor now. I'm still using it though, and it's still working just fine (using Autozone Prostop pads now, instead of my Napa ceramics).

I'm happy with mine. The price was decent, the drilling/slotting was done well, and the rotors were real brembos (came in Brembo boxes). If you push your car REALLY hard, I'd say the drilled rotors might be a problem... but unless you plan on standing on the brakes from 70mph on a daily basis, I don't see why they wouldn't be fine. When I got mine, drilled and slotted was the only option... not just slotted.

Be sure to get good pads. Ceramics are very nice. I have the cheapest pads I could buy on there right now (Autozone didn't have any ceramics to fit my Akebono calipers) and they're HORRIBLE! Paired with my failing master cylinder, stopping is no fun!

Thanks for the feedback. Truth is, I only have the pretensions of performance, I will probably never hit the track.....I just like smoking the ricer civic junkies that are always spilling fluids all over my streets, blasting extremely low quality music and sound systems, and giving everyone attitude.... (I like Civics, why do the drivers always seem to be such losers?)

I am using ceramics already...you're right, they're great, and dirt cheap too. But the solid Raybestos rotors are on the way out, just starting to feel the flutter on the highway when braking, so I want to start looking for a good alternative now.

I'll also repeat what I said before, has anyone used/liked braided lines like the ones ebay is offering? And if anyone has experience with upgraded calipers, that'd be appreciated too. Thanks

The calipers have it printed on them.
