ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Small noise and shaking when braking..

You guys have been very helpful on this board. I really appreciate it. So along with some other small issues , im shaking alittle when i brake from high speeds. Then again at all speeds. Along with a small thumping sound. What could that be?

check your upper control arm balljoints... see if the boots are ripped open, and see if there is any play in the upper control arm VS. the knuckle.

the thunk you hear while braking is something shifting forward... if you accelerate quietly, could you hear it clunking back?

loose balljoints can also lead to wobbling suspension while braking.

I have the same problem, but only after the car is at tempurature. ie. driving 15 min.
          - the balljoints are new upper & lower, the rotors are new, the axles are new.
          Any clues guys.

Do they have to be removed to be machined?

I actually found it cheaper to do brakes myself and it really isn't to difficult but if you don't have the time i guess just take the car to the shop. And generally when you have a shaking when you hit the brakes its a warped rotor well at least every time i have had that problem. One thing you gotta watch i have noticed with cheaper rotors if you get them wet when they are hot they tend to warp faster say if you wash your car after driving it or something.

yes you have to take the rotors off to get them turned, its not expensive at all to get them turned, here in kc we paid 7.50 a piece to turn them. and i dont think its that hard to take them off, at least mine wernt
