ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Intake Mainifold

i finnaly opened the hood to try to fix my idle problem, i took the front valves off of the intake manifold and cleaned all of them, but there was still no change in my idle. i took the whole inake manifold off to see if there was anything i could clean behind it and the inside of the maniflod was dirty as hell so i cleaned it, but the intake manifold is off of a Ex accord and when i first put it on my car, i cleaned it real good, i guess this means i need a new cone filter, or can it be something else? and also i search all over but what else could my idle problem be?

First thing that popped up into my head was the IAC valve, I know you say that you cleaned all the valves but go ahead and check this out in case you missed something,

Did you clean and adjust the FITV? Check all vacuum connections. Even the smallest unplugged hole cause eratic idle. Check the coolant level and also the radiator cap. A worn cap causes bad idle as well.

          ...adjust accordingly

Sometimes cleaning the IAC doesnt help. Sometimes you just need to buy a new unit. And it wouldnt be a bad idea to adjust the FITV while your there.

Standing in front of the engine the FITV should be located toward the right side of the intake manifold. All it takes is a phillips head screw driver to move the steel piece adn you will see the adjustment inside. Try to get something thick enough turn it clockwise until it goes down all the way. There are two phillips head screws forgot to mention that. Plus i think its the next valve looking thing next to the IACV to the right.

I would pull off your egr valve and clean it out really good, check for vacum leaks.

but can you clarify what your idle problem is? is it rough? does it surge?

well then its either you have a really big vacum leak...or the adjuster screw came loose on your fast idle valve...does it surge at all? if so then you might need a new IACV (idle air control valve)
