ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

fewer bends = less restriction. Better sound, well that is in the ear of the person listening's taste. More power, there are other factors to consider.

Its actually more of a restriction (catalytic converter) since he already has a cat back. All its doing is a pipe without the material in the cat. Yes it will be louder. As for sounding better that I do not know. Some I have heard sound good but others I have heard have sounded raspy.

U will definitely lose low end torque, so traffic driving won't be that effortless anymore. But if u take the highways all the time...u'll definitely feel the difference b/c of the increase in hp. If you replace your cat with a resonator instead of a true straight pipe, you might be able to keep the noise low.

            result from straight piping
            low rpm: engine less responsive
            high rpm: engine more responsive

            enjoy the drive.

I disagree on the straight pipe making more HP. I read about a documented test in which a straight pipe was out flowed by a high flow cat. That's what I have on my car, plus Magnaflow Super flow exaust piping. It's loud as f#*%, but alot better than stock.

If I can locate that article, I will post it up.

This is true. Straight pipe on almost stock motors really do not net much gains at all. This only applies to NA cars. Turbo cars on the other hand thats a diff story. Also if you have a high hp/compression NA car it can benefit from a straight pipe. As for stock f22a motors I dont think it will benefit much unless you go turbo. Engine displacement might also have something to do it. NA v8s v6s running straight pipe usually gain a couple horses here and there as I have seen but its still really not that much.

it will be loud as heck. i have 2.5" piping ran open pipe at the midpipe just to see what it sounded like and it sounds beefy at idle, but little to no performance advantage.

My friend had an early 90's turbo probe, he had a turbo back straight pipe exiting right behind the front passenger wheel, it sounded crazy and shot the odd small flame.

Next time drive behind his car and tell him to downshift.
