ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

What tire sizes can I run on stock 15" alloys / stock cb7?

Hello all - it is my first post! So go easy on me.

Just bought a 92 LX w/ only 18k original miles (yes you read that right) - the tires are dry rotted (originals) so I need new. I have the stock 17 spoke alloy oem wheels.

I would like to know the "biggest" tire size I can run at stock height with NO chance of rubbing - the reason is I just dont want a huge wheel gap.

This car will not be lowered or anything else, I am keeping it bone stock! Well it may get repainted original color in the future because it has some dings but other than that, yeah stock...

so what sizes can i safely run besides what came on it? would just like a little less wheel gap. thanks!

18k mls?! Wow. But I think you're going about closing the wheel gap the wrong way. If you go with a huge tire you'll look like a 4x4, and your speedometer will not give you the accurate speed at which your going. If you wanna get rid of the wheel gap why dont you just do a minor drop?

      I agree!

15's look alright but a slight drop would look better and should be ok...if you want to keep it stock for resale, i wouldn't worry about a large wheel gap otherwise if you plan on keeping it, what's a few mods?
Lois: Oh, I haven't been on a college campus in years. Everything seems so different.
Stewie: Really? Perhaps if you laid on your back with your ankles behind your ears that would ring a few bells.

well i dont appreciate being called BS on the odo...

so the car is at the shop right now getting a few suspension repairs, tires, alignment and a general going through (it still had the original belts, etc... on it)

i will post pics of the odo as soon as i get it back (in 2-3 days MAX) and HOPEFULLY they didnt remove (but probably did) the old oil change sticker that was on it from 2003 that said the oil was changed at 15xxx miles - yes i dont think the oil was changed since 2003. yes the odo works and changes/clicks up miles fine.

i bought it at a foreclosure auction a crazy old guy who had 40 properties around town but let them all be run down...the car was DIRTY and hadnt ever been washed since at least 2003, and had been sitting under a tree (a foot of leaves on top of it)

i can post the whole story of the car and post updates as i restore it back to original mint condition as i go if anyone is interested

OH and this is my first HONDA!

anyone know what a full repaint should cost? while this is a super low mile car, it has probably never been washed and the paint needs attention.

x2 depends on where you go to get it done and how good the preperation is before they throw on the fresh paint. Meaning if they are sanding it all down and everything your gonna be spending more but it will look better and more then likely last longer. I have a cheap maaco paint job and keep finding more and more wrong with it. They painted right over some of the weather stripping, oversprayed on some of the side mouldings, overspray on my headlights a little, overspray on my steelies that I had on there at the time, got the paint on a little thick in places causing it to run, and even managed to overspray onto my rear suspension. Mainly when it comes to something like a paint job you have to remember, you get what you pay for. Later

for a good paint job cost around 1200 and u dont have to worry about the macco kind of shit like over spray and i heard they dont sand anything but if u dont have any dents i heard of people sanding down there own cars and tapeing them up and takeing it to macco and geting good paint jobs out of it like that but when u get it back your going to have to wet sand it and buff

well it will need a quarter panel, and it has dents in the front fenders, nothing major though, i hope to only spend 12-1500 on paint/body

i have decided to just get stock size tires right now, with the low miles i dont want to do any lowering or mods, at least not right now

like i said i will take pics of the odo when i get it back from the shop, it should be this week

                        i paid 1150 for it

Nice find man. I didn't think any cb's still existed with that low of miles. Keeping it stock isn't a bad idea, but I wouldn't be suprised if you change your mind later on.
