ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Take a look at what i found out i was riding on?

Well i finally had my mechanic put her on the lift and I couldnt believe it. The previous owner did a hack job on the suspension just to lower it. Guess they couldnt remove the bolt from the bushing so obviously they heated the springs with a blowtorch until it was lowered. Here is a picture of the springs after they were removed. So they were replaced with a set of kyb shocks and struts and cant remember the name of the springs . My boy gave me his after he put on some eibach setup with tokiko springs. Just thought i would share my misfortune with the board.
Wish i knew where to find these guys. Id choke em until his head popped off.

One of them even broke off.

Yeah. got a couple other things i need to take care of on the wag like the little grinding going into third gear and the light smoke on start up. But i guess i can live with that until i find a tranny. I could use some nice stock rims or maybe 17s if i can find a good price. would love to do the H22 thing but it seems very costly.

my swap in my wagon wasn't to bad. i did a h22 auto swap though. i took out a loan to get the motor which was 1850 and used 1k from my savings account to pay for install. if i had known back then what i know now, i could have saved that grand and done the swap myself. i am gonna be doing my own 5spd swap with the help of a friend next month for sure.

So u really think i can do a h22 myself? If so how long does it take?
My mechanic says he wants 1,500 for the install.

I think I've seen those bolts stuck more than any other "common" trait for any other car. What works for me is if I'm just changing the spring, I unbolt the LCA at both ends, and the top of the strut, and leave the strut and LCA bolted together while I change the spring. If I need to change the strut, I just torch the tabs off the strut and torch the bushing out, and replace the bushing and bolt. There comes a time when your labor times exceed your parts cost if you are willing to break a few small, replaceable items. This is one of them.

Man if I were you I would go over and carefully recheck everything the previous owner did. Let me ask you didn't your cars handling feel strange compared to other cb's you have ridden in? I dunno I guess it would be possible not to really notice it.

for sure, not a cool thing the previous owner did. good thing it was found, or it could have been worse in the long term.
