Does this cost sound reasonable to you?

Hey guys, I'm getting my car insured and so i have to first do emissions test and safety. So after inspecting the car, the guy I brought it to told me that a new windshield + a new muffler + the emissions + the safety certification and all installation totals $550 CAN. He says if I pay cash he'll remove the taxes which is (+/-)$480, does this sound reasonable to you guys, I think it does, but I was hoping for some feedback, Thanks!

Oh shit, that's a hell of a deal! I got screwed on my windshield, cost over $400 just for that. For the safety it cost $493 something (with all the new parts and labour), and got my e-test done today for $37.00. Hopefully they do quality work.

Ya my brother's known this guy for quite some time, he's done work on the car before and does work on all vehicles where my bro works, so we know he's a good guy. Anyways thanks for the feedback, it really helps just hearing a few words from other members!

one question.. is your windshield cracked??
if not why were they asking you to change it??

i got quoted for 140 for my front windshield,. this guys mobile. he's always at my brothers body shop!
if anybody needs a new windshield let me know ill get you the same deal as me!!

I got my winshield for 140 and any exaust work souldent cost much unless you have holes everywhere.

lol i'm glad we dont have e-tests here in wv .... all we have is a car inspection and thats way easy to pass and only cost 12 bucks other than paying taxes on the car thats all you gotta do to drive a car here...and as for the windshield as long as there is no crack larger than a quarter your cool... feel sorry for you guys

its 35$ for an etest and like 70$ for a safety, so 375$ for the windshield and a muffler, I dont know does that sound like a good deal?

Ya there was a huge crack in the front windshield. He quote me $35 for the e-test, $80 for the safety, and the rest was windshield and install + muffler and install and tax. I'm gonna pay cash and so that mean $365 for parts and install. idk.

Sounds like you got a good deal. I wouldn't know anything about inspections though. They are not required here by any means.
