ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

for the transmission... what is the fluid level and when was the last time it was flushed and refilled with fresh fluid? it's not the shift solenoid going bad because you said you could shift to a lower gear.
when you pull out the dipstick for the trans, smell it and then come back and describe the scent along with the colour to us.

i can't help you with your lighting problem.

does it smell like hmmm burnt wood? is it really watery or oily?

on a paper towel, what colour is it? brown or red like?

well if it's like you say it is, you should maybe consider a tranny flush and refill with new oil, it might help or it might not as there might be too much damage already done.

but re-reading your other problems, along with this, do you have the funding to get it going again?

its more brown than red and it dosn't smell like wood it smells like petroleum jelly or somthing like that ... and as for the viscosity its not watery its oily

i do have a desent budget replacing the whole trany is completely out of the question but as far as flushing and replace fuild i have more than enogh i might even get a tcm to be on the safe side... it was all going well after i changed out the starter and alternator this tranny thing didnt start till like a week ago

Needs a new trans controller. The S light stuck on, no codes in the computer and no shifting. Very common on the 90-91 Accords. You will either have to replace the controller or manually shift it. You must use the controller for the 90-91 Accord as they are the only ones that used the S light and you will have a very hard time finding a used one that is good. The new ones are about $600.

VSS commonly replaced, don't know why you're not throwing codes though, maybe a new ecu?

for number 3. i had that same problem with my old auto cb, it drove me insane but i would just shut the car off and start it again and it would get ride of it

and 2. the same thing happened to my current cb last winter, i didn't let the car warm up when it was cold and the tach just dropped straight down, then later that day on the highway i downshifted when getting off the highway and it just randomly jumped back up and worked fine and has since

...i know, none of that was helpful, but i felt like posting it anyways.

No the 93 will not work at all and in fact one from the same year as yours will not work if it doesn't have the same number. Most of them in the junk yards will have problems as well. I bought my rebuilt one from these folks and it works as new.

Try changing the fluid and resetting the ECU. IF that dosent work and you still want an ecu and TCU PM me. I have one for the 90-91 with the "S" light.
