ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Very Strong Gasoline odor

Allright, here's my problem. Everytime I fill the car up, I get a horrible Gasoline smell inside the car. I've dropped the tank, the lines and gaskets are all good there. I've checked basically everything in the back of the car and underneath and it's all good to go. You get outside the car, you can't smell anything. Same under the hood.

I guess my question is where could this be coming from? I'm completely stumped. Is there a vent line somewhere I could be missing? I searched a bit and saw a few people mention a canister on the firewall. Could this be the cause? It's really starting to bother me, lol....

    TIA for feedback, help..

There are some lines and stuff up in the front that'll be causing the smell. My mechanics first thought that was my problem, ends up I had a pretty bad gas leak though lol. But yes, check up by the front, that be where it's coming from if all else is good.

i guessing the thing on the firewall is your fuel filter, that shouldnt make it smell inside, im gunna guess it may be your filler neck, or your sending unit lock ring, that is under your back seat covered by a piece of metal with i think 2 or 3 10mm bolts. (atleast with a 2 door)i had a problem like that, i replaced the ring and it didnt smell anymore. Thats my only ideas, hope you find the problem

i agree b/c the filter shoudlnt smell in the cabin and not in the engine bay.....
