ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

New (to me) 92 accord coupe EX questions..

Hi all... this is my first honda, I bought it for the gas mileage and it seems like a very nice little car. It's a 92 ex coupe with 164k miles on it. I have a couple questions i'd like to ask you guys "the pros" about this thing.

First, how hard is the timing belt to change? the guy said he hadn't changed it and didn't know if the guy before him had or not. I am fairly good mechanically.. rebuit engines etc.... and my dad has changed more than a few timing belts on his cars... is this do-able?

Second, My only problem with it thus far is that it upon startup... sometimes it'll start right up, and sometimes it takes maybe 20 to 30 seconds of cranking to get it to start up... like a weak fuel pump or something like that... going down the road if I just stay in the gas enough to keep it up to speed it feels like it kind of surges a bit... which is why I think maybe a fuel filter....

anyway... if there's any other nuggets of wisdom you guys can offer a new honda owner I'd appreciate it...

Thanks and I look forward to reading/contributing for a long while here.. I've really enjoyed my first few days with the car... this being the first car I've owned... hopefully this thing will last me awhile...

Well we would love to see some pics of the car if you get a chance. Im curious as to what the differences are between the EX Coupe and the DX Coupe, because me and some friends saw huge difference between the DX Coupe and the LX Sedan other than the amount and size of doors.

o and enjoy the car a lot, there great little cars, and i personally love the coupes

I have the same starting problem thing as you...sometimes it wouldn't start at all no matter how much i cranked it...i thought i might have been out of gas, so i rocked the car and then it started like 10 seconds later.
So i'm thinking it's also the fuel filter as well.
Probably a good idea to change that thing as they often are neglected...i'm gonna need the flow anyways with the stock fuel pump and a turbo going on.

Only other thing it could be is an intermitent fuel pump, and i've also heard such things as faulty main fuel pump relays. I donno.
        Good luck.

it probably is the fuel filter but b/c you said you rocked the car and then it strarted right up....i'm thinking that its a posibility that the sock on the fuelpump intake is clogged with junk and that when you rocked the car you knocked that stuff loose letting fuel get to the engine
