ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Impact gun works wonders. If not try to get something to hold it in place. If you have a c clamp might be able to clamp the pulley onto something get you a breaker bar and break loose the bolt.

Weird, why would you change the alternator wheel? Why not just replace the alternator?

Most parts stores rent a tool that will help remove those type wheels, I had to do one on a P/S pump on a puckup when the one I bought didnt have the wheel included for some reason.
I cant Slam further. The ground refuses to get any lower.

you're talking about a pulley remover. They are typically used for power steering pumps and things like that.

most alternator pulleys don't need to be pulled off like that. They aren't pressed on in the same way, but rather only held on with a nut that needs to be removed. It's easiest to just use an impact gun or some other type of high speed unit.

we only ever use an impact gun at work when changing the pulleys. i don't know any other simple way to do it.

we always have to swap pulleys because half of the time the new alternators don't have the proper pulley on.

Or he just wants to put on an aftermarket alternator wheel. Air tools are nice to have but if you dont have any you have to prevent the wheel from moving when your turning off the pulley.

but whats the best way of keeping the wheel from turning when you use the tool?

            so you know...
I bought an alternator from a member here. but when I recived it & put it, I noticed that the wheel is too wide. my belt squeels when I turn on the car.
