ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Borked my timing belt install?

I installed a new timing belt, balance belt, and water pump yesterday and now the engine is way louder and the rpms feel kinda jumpy (they tend to ride higher but do settle down to around 900-1000 when when stationary for a few seconds).

I'm pretty positive I got the balance shaft right. It seems pretty hard to mess up with that notch in there. So, am I off a notch or two on the belt? If that's what some of you that are more experienced think could you give some step by steps on how to get it all back to the smoothness I was enjoying before?

P.S. I was really glad to find this forum and happy to see all the great options I have for this car. I'm coming from a 2004 SRT-4 which I really liked and even though my Accord ('92 LX coupe) doesn't compare in a lot of ways I really like the feel of it and I have some definite plans in the suspension and braking areas.

well, i did mine like 1 month ago and i say u cant line up the head and block perfectly, your always gonna be off a bit, i had to make it go off a half notch to get the belt to fit perfectly, but mine idles perfect. ONly thing is it wines like a supercharger, lol, when u pickup engine speed, i like it. Other than that, put a timein lite to it, if u can set your timing on it with the gun lite, then u good to go!
