ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Clutch replacement, when is it needed ?what are the signs ?

92 accord lx, when clutch pedal is only fully depressed to the floor, is when i hear a squeak sound from trans area ? and today , i didn't hear it ?
I was told it is the Throw-bearing that is shot. that would be that sound.squeak.
also outside the trans area there is a spring action under black rubber caseing called hydrolic slave cylinder. i believe i hear it in there. How do i know ?

If it's thow bearing, ll'l replace clutch with /kit( includes throw bearing )
do i need a new clutch too, what are signs.

    or

replace slave cylinder, cheaper, clutch throw bearing is okay as well as clutch?

    where should i start ?

depends on how bad the clutch is worn out, if i was replace the throw out bearing or at least have them check it out, while the tranny is off, i would check the condition of the clutch while i'm down there, but if your clutch is going out, you will experience clutch chatter, clutch slipping and stuff like that

Signs that you need a new clutch: engine rpms rise faster than the speedo when the car is in gear, and that distinct burnt smell that comes and goes. A clutch kit will usually include a new TO bearing in addition to a pressure plate and friction disk. If it was my car, i would try bleeding the system to see if it helps anything out before moving on to the next stage.

could also possibly be slave cylinder too. if it's bad it may not be pushing fork all the way to engage/disengae clutch disc. look for fluid leaking first before you go ripping into it. how many miles are on car(more importantly the clutch) has it been changed if so when? a few more thigns to check....... clutch pedal adjustment at pedal in cabin area, shift cables, you might also be able to see inside on bellhousing through timing inspection plug, like i said might be able to, if you have a major problem you'll know it. although trough this hole you can't see disc and/or bearing. but try to check simple stuff first then move to more in depth

Or they didnt grease up the shaft that the TO bearing sits on good enough when they install the clutch or its finally wearin out lol. My shit was dry ass balls when I did my motor swap and my clutch was to the bare metal. Now that was the shit now its a frisbee I use to knock the shit out of people =D. I still have a clutch disk sitting with pretty good life left just the pressure plate took a shit on me. LUK clutches suck ass.
