ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I couldn't find a definitive answer in this thread (maybe I missed it), so I figured I'd ask. The only ECU I could find in the JY here was the California emissions one, is that going to mess up my non-CA car?

It definitely won't do any damage. I'm not sure what the difference is, honestly. I believe the Prelude S was still rated at 135hp, even for the CA-emissions cars... so if there's a difference, it should be pretty much undetectable. If anything, it might not make quite as much power as one from a non-CA model.

Still, we're only talking 10hp or less here... whatever you feel really is in your head. 10hp is barely noticeable with the ol' butt dyno!

Because the wrong ECU is always a great idea

"worked" as in "the engine runs", yes. You can run an H22 on a bone stock P06... but that doesn't mean it's right... or that it won't do damage.

You are fueling for an engine with a greater displacement, more compression, and a totally different powerband. Fortunately, the injectors are the same size... but that doesn't mean things are good. If it seems to run better, that's only because there's something wrong with your engine, and it is masking the problem. Chances are, you're running pig rich in most areas, and possibly dangerously lean in others.

Running an ECU that is not designed for your engine can be very harmful... and giving such idiotic advice because "it works for you" is simply ignorant. If you want to be stupid and damage your engine, go ahead... but do so knowing that you're doing something stupid. Don't tell the new members of this forum, who don't know any better, that it's a good idea.
If you didn't know that it is a stupid thing to do, then I'm telling you now. It is a stupid thing to do. Now you know.
