ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Since school was letting out when I swapped it in, I had to go easy on her so I drove in mixed traffic conditions at different speeds and it's a little more responsive esp between about 2200 and 4200 rpm. Also charges to the redline somewhat quicker. My wife even commented that I snapped her head back. I didn't tell her that I had changed ecu's so I'm not imagining the gains.

YMMV but definitely worth the price of admission. I'm gonna monitor my car for a few days to make sure everything is hunkydory and then I'll retire my pt3.

*bigjoe observations* I got a chance to drive the car a lot more today and can tell that something is there. Since there were no school kids around I was able to dip my big toe in it some and I must say that it's really more responsive from about 2500 - right on up to the red area. It feels, to sum it up in a word, "peppier". Kinda like after a tune up with an oil change, a full tank of fresh petrol, a super deluxe wash and a little tree-shaped air freshner over the rear view mirror
Thanks to all the cb7tuners for all of the great knowledge that is dispensed on this forum.
Power seems more readily available. I've had to put gas in my car 3 times since I've put the p12 in and my commute is only 8 miles a day. Normally a full tank lasts me about 2.5-3 weeks. I look for excuses to drive my car during the day just to flog her. I love the whoosh that my SRI produces coupled with the extra nudge in my back especially winding her up in 2nd and 3rd.

When I installed mine I also noticed a little more pull, like it felt normal to 2500, then i can feel a bump in power like the car forgot it had the p12 lol, good upgrade forsure.

just a few bolts under the carpet on the pass side foot well, real easy to install, takes maybe 10 minutes. the p12 mounts a little different then the pt6 or the pt3 though, Im sure your figure something out.

Either way, a stock ECU will only be good for regular bolt-ons anyway. Once you get into replacing the cam, doing headwork, and internal stuff... it's best to properly tune the ECU.

Good point, but the thing that's going to get trippy here is figureing out which between the PT6 and the P12 are better suited for said replacement cam, when beginning with the F22a/F22a1 cam, and going to the F22a6 cam. Obviously a real regrind with a true performance cam makes either a moot point, but we are dealing with what is a stock cam to one of these ECU's, and what another may be mapped agressively enough to benifit from. There's beinifit in that going to the PT6 is going to give that electronic opening, which will be nice, but... The PT6 is used to a strong cam profile, so it may have an agressive map... however if the P12 has benifited at least this one person with the F22a6, could it be that the P12 deals better with that cam than even the PT6? Like maybe the PT6 is holding back? That's my worry, I don't want to be surprised and end up downgrading ECU's and having less power down low just for the sake of electronic control of the IAB's. My interest is in feel off the line, without it the car isn't as fun to drive.

i agree i have an a1 and i wanna get a complete a6 swap (a6 runners w/ h23 plenium & TB and a6 cam) but i dunno what ecu to get.. i think that the vaccuum would be harder to use and wouldnt get the timeing right for the IAB.. and with the a6 cam it wouldnt make to much sence that the p12 would give more power because its made for an a1 with a less aggressive cam grind.. anyways im just givin this a bump for anyone elses opinion..

No it doesn't matter. ECU doesn't control the tranny, only the engine and the sensors.

i'd probably just go with the a6 stuff, i'm just guessing that all that new stuff will do more than just the p12 without all the a6 parts (im, exhaust, ecu, iab box)
