ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I'd pick up a Haynes or Helms shop manual. They'll have nice pictures and well-written steps telling you how to replace it ^.^
    93 EXR

    Blower Unit replacement
    Climate Control Knob replacement
    Deck install

It's not the nicest job, the location is a pain to get to.
Make sure you remove your intake tubing, anything that will get in your way.
The VSS is on top of the transmission, as that link says.

Here are some tips though, as i've replaced 2 of them:

Get angled wrenches, a towel, flashlight/well lit area and patience.
You should also buy a bottle of power steering fluid as surely you will lose some when you remove and install.
Keep an eye out on your P/S reservoir.

          Good luck!

THe VSS is just the top part I dont think he needs the whole shaft. Just take off the two top 10mm bolts if I remember and pull off. There is a lil key in there you can replace it with the new one that comes with the kit or whatever. MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS ALIGNED BEFORE TIGHTENING AND IT IS SITTING FLUSH. If you tighten it and its not aligned and you overtighten the thing you risk snapping where the bolt holds the sensor in. After that just plug in you should be good. I just used a ratchet and a decent extention to pull it off.

yeah take ur intake tubing off and u should get to it no problem. when i swapped my tranny i had to switch that. my car is a 91 lx and the tranny i got is a 93 i think ex and they had different connectors so i hope u got the right one.
oh the bolt kinda weird one once u get ur socket on it it is a breeze to pull off.
hope u have no trouble at it!
