ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Cold Start problem

Ok I Know there like 1000 thread on this subject but could really find what I need so....
My car is really hard to start the morning when it's cold. My Batterie is new (2month) and the starter was rebuild 8 month ago....My spark plug wire are in bad shape ( I'm gonna put some NGK maybe in 2-3weeks)..

What could be the problem ?!?

yeah mines sometimes doesnt start after a gas tank fill up...

check your spark plugs -- could be a gasket making oil get on the plugs...
check your distributor cap and rotor - could be melted
check spark plug wires/plugs - could just be old
check air hoses - wiggle all of them make sure of a connection

i did all that and my car starts really quick... note: my car has 141k miles

Ok well I have a similar problem right now. Mine isnt starting either. It has been sitting in the sun all morning. Just checked the weather channel and it is 75 degrees F here in KC. Only has 125k on the motor/chasis, my battery (Optima Red top) is only 3 months old, spark plugs (NGK) and wires (MSD) are about 5 months old. Usually I have this problem in like July or August when it is still getting to like 100 out. I can get it to crank just like normal but it just wont turn over. 10W-30 High mileage oil here. Any thoughts. LMK. Later

Well I got it to start after about 40 minutes of it just sitting there with the hood open. Any ideas? Later

Have you changed your distributor cap and rotor lately?? I know I had the exact problem you did except the night before it rained pretty hard and when I went to start it around noon the next day it was like 90 degrees out. It started after I let it sit for a couple hours bc the moisture inside my distributor cap dried out. Turned out the seal to my DC was shot. I put in a new rotor and DC w/a new seal and haven't had a problem since.

                Madspleen check your main relay.

A basic tune up would be a good thing to do if you havent done one in a while. As mentioned if you havent changed plugs/wires/rotor/cap in a while it would help.

Thanks man... My spark plugs (NGK) and wires (MSD) are only about 5 months old. They (wires and plugs) dont need to be replaced quite yet do they? They are gapped properly. I replaced my distributor rotor and cap about 2 years ago. Guess that will me my project to take care of tomorrow. Later

Well maybe ya need some of that heat stuff that removes water from the gas. Maybe a little moisture up in there somewhere. Just a thought.
