ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Larger Spark Plug Wires

I'm going to get new plug wire soon. Is there a noticable difference in these aftermarket wires??? I'm thinking of some 10.2mm with those grounding straps on 'em ... is it worth it...

Also, anyone notice a diff. with special plugs?? Like those iridium or platinums... I was told just get regular NGKs..

    Thanks

    ~Mike

in my opinion i say stick with ngk when it comes to plugs and wires....As for whether you feel a difference ...it depends...whens the last time u changed your plugs and wires...if your old ones are in really bad condition the car should run a lil smoother...dont expect crazy gains

Yeah I'm gonna get new wires regardless... I just saw a deal on those ones with the ground straps and figured I'd check to see if anyone actually uses them first.

Yeah I had a set of OBX plugs and 10.2 plug wires. They didn't make a difference when I put them on and I think they actually made the car run worse. I then learned my lesson and bought NGK plugs and wires. IMO they're the best brand to use for our cars. My car has been runnin smooth since.

every time i do a tune and replace the plugs, i always have to replace the wires too because i end up breaking one.

any one of you can go and pick up the honda builders handbook at any bookstore and you will learn a lot about plug wires that may shock you,

first yes new wires conduct more than old ones, most stock wires are carbon based which wear down over time

second, no wire adds power, just gives you more spark via less resistance which gives you a hotter spark and burns your fuel durring lean conditions better

third, these magical ground strap capasitor wires are a bunch of bull and actualy can mess with the electronic flow through the wire

according to the people in the book, aka the people at jackson racing, megnacore wires, and so forth your best bet is not wasting your money on 50 inch thick wires but to get a solid non carbon core wire ( aka not stock replacements) and you will get all you can out of a stock ignition. if you get the book they explain it a lot better, there is a whole chapter on just ignition, ill post a pic of the cover latter

                PEACE
