Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

    Clutch Pedal questions

I switched my car from auto to 5speed but when I got the pedal I got it from a junkyard and some dumbass pulled it from the car and he removed the clutch assist spring when he took it off. Well i thought i put the spring on right but i guess not because when i press in the clutch it doesnt return. I was just wondering if anyone has pictures of their pedals hooked up in there car or out of the car, both would be nice. Also I read in a honda engine swap book that i got from autozone that the automatic firewalls are weaker than the manual and reinforcement should be added to prevent the master cylender from moving. Im just wondering if anyone actually does this and if so what did they use. Thanks

if u pop the springs out and put it back in. dont worry about it. i swap my auto to 5 speed and install everything in. all i need is a tranny when the money come in next week. my pedal does the same thing. it's the oil. put some oil in it. that's what i heard it was. but if u dont got a metal pipe runnin to the transmission then u need that parts.

I guess he means clutch lines instead of metal pipe..... and brake fluid instead of oil........

He is right about the pedal feel though. Unless it is bleed properly and is holding pressure then it isn't going to come back to you. I hate with a passion bleeding the clutch on my car...well most cars for that matter. My car sat for a while after I did my H and auto to tranny swap because I couldn't bleed the clutch system. It's a PITA! We eventually got a brake vacume bleeding system that we had to use on it.

As mentioned when you first install it your gonna have air in the system which makes the pedal hit the floor. After fully bleeding it the pressure will build up. But usually you need another person with a 10mm wrench workin the slave on the trans while you build up pressure in the system inside the car. Its like bleeding your brakes.

              Bleeding the clutch

Someone should write up a DIY on how to properly bleed a clutch. Also I have heard of bench bleeding on brake master cylenders, is this nessecery on clutch master cylenders?

It would be better since your swapping over. Bench bleeding the MC will cut down on bleeding clutch system on the car.
                Heres what you do
                1. Use your hand pull pedal in and out a few times until you feel press to use your foot
                2. Push it down all the way and tell buddy to open bleeder
                3. Keep on doing this until you feel pressure build up and the pedal doesnt feel mushy
                4. Then Clean up around the area that got brake fluid

I hope I explained that clearly.

I had to bleed my clutch line for a long time before the pedle had any pressure behind it. I bleed my clutch line by myself so that made it that much more of a pain in the ass. I put a pice of wood in from of my seat and pushed down the clutch with my floor jack handle and then put the floor jack handle on the wood. It worked pretty nice but 2 people would make it easier. Dont forget to make sure the fluid resivor always has enough fluid.

...correct, the clutch system uses brake fluid and I too change out my slave cylinder and when it came time to bleed the system it was only me. So I found a heavy concrete block used for landscaping and buried it onto the clutch pedal. I would pump the pedal with my hand and then put the block on the pedal. Then go back out and release the pressure. It also took about 10-15 minutes to get the pressure back to normal but it worked. I tell ya a Haynes manual is GOLD. I have done everything with the Haynes manual. Need to buy one for the Accord now. Moving up from an EJ.
